The last paragraph is a 101 on how to throw your players under the bus.

Edit: here’s the paragraph because it doesn’t show the whole thing on the twitter link.

"This is probably the first time you guys have heard me say: The players have to play. They have to play. They can't just say 'well, did you read what they're saying about Satt?' You are Satt. You are the offense. You're out on the field."

I've compared Thomas and Satterfield resume...

I'm so tired of hearing all this Rhule bashing. It reminds me of all the dumbasses who almost ran Osborne off to Colorado in the 80's. Rhule, can't make receivers do their job, he isn't running the routes, he's not making the check downs at the line of scrimmage, he is not stepping out of bounds on the 1 yardline on a kick off, this list can go on and on. Players execution falls back on the players and the position coaches and making any changes in those position coaches right now would absolutely cost us the rest of the games. Now, could Rhule make sure the play calls are what he wants and they get in and get to the LOS before 30 seconds, and could he set the expectation with the position coaches, yes!!! But firing guys at this point makes no sense, taking control of the play calling that is on Rhule for sure. If he is smart he will play the younger guys now and set things up for next year.

How is is NOT Rhule's fault that he hired an OC who:

1) Never has been worth a damn anywhere he has been

2) Clearly does not have any desire to implement the kind of offensive scheme Rhule talks about in press conferences all the time

3) Is clearly in over his head against BIG DC's. See: virtually every conference game last season. See: virtually every conference game this season.

Dude is STILL employed here. Pulling down 1.4 million. For horrific job performance. Now in year 2 and counting.

How is it NOT Rhule's fault that Ed Foley

1) Was hired

2) Is still employed here, making $550k for fielding one of the worst units in all of college football?

Is Rhule responsible for ANYTHING in regards to this program?

Welcome, "Outside Eyes"!

That was my initial thought as well. Anything short of Satt being replaced during the bye week seems like a fancy sidestep to avoid addressing the issue.

Replacing coordinators mid-season is far from ideal, and yeah, fans always clamor for the offensive coordinator’s job when things go sideways, but good Lord, when it’s this obvious?? This is Brian Ferentz blindness and stubbornness without the familial ties. Not sure why Oklahoma, UCF, etc can replace coordinators and we can’t, other than Nebraska proving once again that we’re a non-serious program.
“We’re a non-serious program” truer words have never been spoken before on this board.

The Psychology

What Rhule should do is take a play out of the Bo Pelini playbook. Bring in a bunker mentality. Turn the players against the fans. Us versus them. Play for your brother next to you, not these dimwitted blue hairs. It had mixed results, But he was winning nine games and going to bowl games
I can never wrap my mind around the idea of turning the team against the fans. They've been there to support and fund them. Do they want us to stay home and they play in an empty stadium and make them travel on greyhound busses to usc??

SIAP: Rhule The Enabler

have we reached the "different realm of existence" yet?

still 100% positive Rhule was a better hire than Deion?

I'll hang up and listen.
The reality is that Deion’s team is tied for 2nd in the big 12 and can make the championship game. Win that and guess what, they do the impossible and make the playoffs. I hope it happens because we can always hang our hat on beating them this year !!!

The Psychology

I went to the game-looked like if something good would’ve happened in the first drive of the second half we would’ve been fine. Then DR locks up, throws the pic, and I felt like we just kind of fell apart for a while.

There are 80,000 opinions from those who went to the game about what happened. Mine is apart from the above, that they came out flat, DR was pressured and relatively immobile till he got hurt, and in the last drive our receivers couldn’t catch a cold. Did anyone else also think that it looked like our kicker warming up before the game looked like he was hitting knuckleballs?
