SIAP....The 1000 pound Gorilla in the room...

"maybe some fans" ??????? I think every single Nebraska fan cares about making a bowl game, with the apparent exception being you.

Saying you dgaf about making a bowl is like a 40 year old virgin saying he doesn't care about getting laid. Nebraska's bowl drought is like a concrete block hanging around everyone's neck. Playing in the Pinstripe Bowl would be a very welcome slump-buster.
Also, NU fans will travel in hordes to whatever game we get. I know Ill be there. Its a good chance for our fans to show some of these empty bowl game stadiums what they have been missing with all our sucking.

The Offense: 2023 vs 2024

I haven't looked up the stats but I believe we had far more big play TDs, 40+ yards, last year than this year and its simply because no one was scared of us throwing the ball last year and we could hit Lloyd or Coleman burning a DB via play action or an option pass.

Now that I'm thinking about it... how many play action passes have we even had since Big 10 play started? (need a running game to try play action)
you are correct

we ranked 9th in the country in 40+ yard runs last year and 2nd in the B1G in 50+ yard plays last year

The Offense: 2023 vs 2024

Haarberg started 8 games for us last year, but really only played 7 since he went out so early against Maryland.
DR has started 8 games for us this year.

here's how they and the offenses compare:

HH - 49% completions, 1,444 total yards, 11 total TDs, 6 INTs (7 games)
DR - 66.1% completions, 1,686 total yards, 9 total TDs, 7 INTs (8 games)

the offense is averaging 24ppg compared to 22ppg last year during HH's starts
the offense is averaging 358ypg compared to 317ypg last year during HH's starts

pretty similar numbers. by far the biggest improvement is in fumbles lost, but that really hasn't translated to more points.

W/L record is the same.

I was pretty surprised to see how similar our production has been this year compared to last year's ragtag bunch.
