7-5 Starts Today

Wisconsin has gotten better as the season has gone along? They’ve lost their last three and fired their offensive coordinator.

If that’s getting better as the season has progressed, we better lock up Rhule for another 8 years, cuz he has progressed even more, losing 4 in a row and demoting the offensive coordinator a few weeks ago.

If you’re gonna troll Husker nation, at least try. You aren’t very good at this.
Lost 16-13 to the #1 team in the nation the week before they played us. That would constitute as playing better. I said in my post that we have a team of really good players, and a pretty poor group of coaches. Really sad it took this for Rhule to get rid of his buddy in favor of competence. The hope is Rhule was just living in 2019 and thought he could build a staff that listened to him and whom he trusted, except the sport had changed dramatically and his OC of choice just didn't turn out to be very good. I feel really bad for this team, a really good collection of players, who could have been on the cusp of a playoff run to have this outcome. 10 more points a game(likely under DH) and we are 10-1. Hell, even the Indiana game, with an offense that didn't turn it over 5 times might have been a shootout.

Matt Rhule saved Nebraska football

But, we really don't know, and never will know to what extent he as gonna allow Dana to tinker with the offense. Maybe he wanted Dana to kinda mentor a guy making 1.4M a year who doesn't really understand that offense is execution and rhythm.

Dana is not gonna be some second banana to a guy like Satt, and if Rhule wanted Satt to run the offense and have Dana sprinkle in things, it would have been a total no-go on Dana's part. Guys like him are gonna have total control of the play calling, not some babysitter for a guy whose never gonna "get it."

Dana may have left Lincoln, after several sessions with Satt and just knew there's no effing way that offense was gonna work.
Agree - I don’t think he wanted OC at that time which is why he ended up at TCU as an analyst. Had he come in - he would have been calling plays. Hell - he was here 6 days made the change to call plays.

Dude we were 5-1 and he openly tried to get DH on staff prior to the year starting. We lost three games - he had enough and brought someone in to fix it. Big boy decisions we were pissed previous coaches didn’t make and some people crap on Rhule for making the hard decision.

Volleyball ***FINAL #2 Nebraska sweeps #6 Wisconsin for second time in 2024***

UPDATE

FINAL:
Nebraska 3
Wisconsin 0

Yep! That's a second consecutive sweep for #2 Nebraska over #6 Wisconsin this season – and a perfect 2-0 day for the Huskers over the Badgers. The football team is going bowling after a 44-25 win over Wisky, and the volleyball team is now two wins away from clinching a second consecutive outright Big Ten championship. The Huskers (28-1 overall, 18-0 Big Ten) face second-place Penn State (26-2, 16-1) next Friday and third-to-last Maryland (13-16, 4-14) next Saturday.

Nebraska swept Wisconsin in Lincoln tonight (25-21, 25-22, 25-17) almost three weeks to the day that it swept the Badgers (21-6, 15-3) in Madison on Friday, Nov. 1 by an eerily similar score (25-21, 25-22, 25-19).

That's 25 consecutive W's for the 'Skers. That's a winning streak highlighted by winning 20 of the 25 via sweep and securing wins in 75 of 82 sets.

Nebraska Football Is Fun Again!!

You think people will be as quick as you - someone with a brain disorder obsessed with a message board poster - to shit on our AD who is a Winner?

I don’t!
I don't think anyone is doing that. I think that's a straw man. I understand wanting to be right but when you are wrong sometimes it's better to admit it rather than moving the goal posts.

Nebraska Football Is Fun Again!!

I think Rhule wanted Dana, didn't get Dana, got Satt.

Somehow Dana came into the picture again.

Looks like Rhule wanted Dana to begin with. Have to give Rhule props on that. Rhule got Satt....that is on Rhule at the same time.

Don't know what convinced Dana to come, I think he said he got bored.

We can all thank boredom if we're taking things at face value. And if we are, then I think we can thank both Rhule and Dana from where I sit.
Dana hated not calling plays. Rhule is friends and needed a playcaller. That is what convinced him.

I bet having Raiola at qb didn't hurt.

Official Thank you 21

DD and EJ are a great combo when used properly and motivated to be so
That’s a good top 2, especially with the way they are running right now. Back in spring I thought Dowdell was big and too slow, but he looks trimmed down and has good burst. Maybe not the cutbacks and spin moves EJ has but a solid back. EJ is our top dog now.
I am loving this, can’t believe the difference from just 3 weeks ago

Dylan Raiola

I am speculating he is very good at personal motivation with big boys. He may take Benhart aside and say, "you have got to get to this spot for this play to work." He probably makes it a personal mission for some of those kids to take ownership of certain type plays.

You can motivate the shit out of kids when you're not just blowing smoke up their ass.
You could be right. I'm sure we will hear more. To be honest I don't really care what he had to do so long as shit is working.

He could come out dressed like Harry Potter and offer free magic classes... As long as we see improvement I will defend it as a legitimate coaching tactic.
