Cutting the roster to 105

Will many NCAA teams begin to have a "practice squad" or something similar.? Those players won't be on the official 105 roster but would be held in some sort of reserve capacity. They could still get some NIL deal as compensation (cost of attendance) for being associated with the team but not on the 105. What is stopping them from being able to attend team meetings, do film study, and have access to workout facilities. If a player on the 105 gets injured, or decides to transfer, they get replaced by the practice squad player.
Not allowed. Once a student-atlete takes part in any athletically-related activity, he counts as a member of the team. Such activities include practice and required team meetings.

105 is a lot of players. How many times does the 104th guy get into a game? Rarely. Still plenty of bodies for practice. Teams will adjust and be fine.

Tom Osborne lamented when scholarships were cut from 95 to 85 that it would end college football as we knew it. Obviously didn't happen. This won't kill it either

News out of Clarkeye city

Smoke on their board is referencing a handful of possible opt outs for remaining 2 games. McNamara didn’t get on plane supposedly and a starting CB is rumored to be an opt out.
The possible opt outs have me more curious as to what is going on in Iowa City. I keep hearing rumors that Ferentz is possibly going to hang it up this year. It would make sense given what happened last year with his son and the impending changes happening in college football.

Ron Brown Key In Dawson Merritt Recruitment

That's what I thought! Who better to be put in charge of getting Merritt here as he is the most devout Christain on that staff, not saying Rhule isn't devout but Brown has that well known reputation as he is devout extreme and makes sense when you listen to Dawson speak.

Have been saying this in several posts, and questioning why Brown wasn't put in charge of teaching the receivers how to hit and block with tenacity and ferocity to begin with because of another well known reputation of his. When Brown coached them under Osborne, they were they best blocking and harding in all of back then DIV I year in and year out as he was the innovator of it as he took it to a level that even teams today can't match. He's got his work cut out for him with these guys as his receivers played with the mentality of It's my will against yours, and you will lose. That was the mentality as well of Osborne's teams. Satterfield severely dropped the ball on perimeter blocking.
