They just might be.
In watching Wisconsin beat Minnesota last week (both ranked teams) it struck me that neither of them made plays the way Nebraska routinely does. I don't recall feeling that way in past years.

Secondary has been ROUGH most or all of the year.
However, the TD against Ceyair Wright was just a great play by Wisconsin, and he was there to make a play.
The back corner TD against Buford was not great defense, but he still made a play on the ball, and it was a good catch.

But all the lack of run support and allowing way too many wide open guys and dink and dunk throws gets frustrating.

Wisky quickly picked on Hartzog like USC did and that’s when Blye Hill went in.

And when he did see the field, he immediately got blown by. He's been a non-factor this year just as I predicted and was ridiculed for.

I'm glad Dannen made the suggestion that a change was needed, and I'm glad Rhule followed through. mostly I'm glad Dana was ready and available. perhaps his philosophy has evolved - I'm happy to be wrong and to see a commitment to power running with him at the helm.

I also understand that you are so far gone that none of this will compute in your broken, Kong-addled brain, so I expect another meaningless reply fraught with emojis.

Everyone had the book on how to defend Nebraska’s offense, with the predictable play calling and clear tips from sub packages.

Then DH arrives, and suddenly those trends are gone. Wisconsin caught us at a bad time, for Wisconsin. Poor, Wisconsin. They didn’t have the luxury of knowing what we were about to do like all of our other opponents.

It's a lot of things. One of them is giving Dylan a lot of quick reads on plays not always just 5 read progressions to diagnose. DR multiple times looked around quickly and checked down to EJ.

IF Dana stays, the majority of the offensive staff needs to go. They've had 2 springs, 2 falls and 20 ballgames to prove their worth. They didn't all just magically start coaching better in the last 2 weeks. Its all because of the Dana influence on the entire unit.

If Dana leaves, this will be the same old sad sack of shit coaching staff as we've become accustomed to. And Rhule will be headed down the road in a couple of years.

I mean it's understandable and maybe he really did need a break, but just because a coach says something to the media doesn't mean it's the complete truth. If Alabama or another Playoff contender came calling, it's amazing how fast one can find the motivation. I know what's not near as motivating is being an underling to Satterfield which is exactly what we offered last off-season.

Jermari Harris is supposedly dinged up at QB and didn’t play against Maryland. Some say he is opting out to prepare for the draft and some say he is legit injured. CB is a liability with Nebraska’s big WRs. All OSU did was throw jump balls at #8 (who I swear is only 5’8”) for TD’s. Raiola likes throwing jump balls so some big plays are to be had, as long as they don’t hang up into the wind.

If what @dinglefritz said is true and Dana was too “tired” at the beginning of the year, I don’t see him as a guy wanting to jump back to a head roll at this level anytime soon. He no doubt had multiple OC offers and only took a consultant position at TCU.

Possible he sees Dylan as a belt-notching type of project. I’m all for the marriage if we can get it! Dylan threw it 39+ times and we blew out what some claimed was a “tougher” Fickell team. Anyone who says that can’t work here is a moron. It is harder to do, yes but anything can work anywhere with the right coaches and players.

Hell we wouldn't even move on from Satterfield when we had DH right there. And I doubt DH had much interest dropping to a G5 team to be a coordinator.
