UCLA playing our schedule

UTEP: win
Colorado: win (maybe a bit closer though)
N Iowa: win
Illinois: win
Purdue: win
Rutgers: win
Indiana: loss
Ohio St: loss

So records can be deceiving. NU was never a better team despite our record. NU is also 2-5 playing their schedule coming into the game.

My larger point is this loss really shouldn't be a surprise. Our offense is anemic. We need Satt to be replaced. Raiola has arm talent but is showing us there are deficiencies in his current game that he needs to work on and opposing staffs are exposing it. Haarberg should get more playing time, as should Kaelin.
Yes, this might have been the most winnable game on paper. But they also run a scheme and had a game plan that worked perfectly against us with players that can accomplish it.
It's entirely possible that we match up better against the remaining teams than we did with UCLA. But again, we need to fix the offense to have a chance to win those games.
I saw this one coming. Bienemy outcoached White. Satt? A trained monkey could outcoach him. Chip left good players at UCLA and Bienemy has that Chief’s offense installed and humming. White was exposed.

Iowa

Wasn’t Cade McNamara the QB for those losses? I’m not sure. I don’t watch them. But I did last night and they looked like how we need to look as far as identify. I don’t care about their history or really anything about them. Just that they looked impressive last night

Fantastic.

You are now an Iowa 8-4 fan who'll end up in the Citrus Bowl and get embarrassed by an SEC team.

Hey, at least you only get your shit pushed in once or twice a year.

Iowa

Rh
I get what you’re saying and I definitely don’t want our team to be what Iowa is over the last 25 years. The fact remains we are not even at Iowa’s level.

We flat out suck on game day. It isn’t because we aren’t talented or have the resources…we do! Each year we have everything to at least be a 7-5 team or better except this program is lazy, is never prepared, has no urgency to win, the culture sucks! It has sucked really since the end of the Pelini era. Nebraska Football will suck until new blood changes the culture. I think it has to start with replacing players that are underperforming/constantly screwing up and getting rid of some assistants.
Rhule has his buddies to look out for.

Glenn Thomas

Could be a million different variables. Might be Thomas, could be the system, could be the kid is a bitch. Who knows?

Just that we’ve seen enough to know that this team isn’t better and is showing 0 signs of becoming better. That is empirical
The system and play design at times are problems. Satterfield’s refusal to commit to the run probably wouldn’t change if Thomas was calling the plays. Winning programs commit to the run. I’m not saying run option or go full service academy but for heaven’s sake don’t try 3 low percentage pass plays in a row from the 5 yard line.

I don’t think Satterfield will change. I’m not sure Thomas would change anything and I’m doubtful that Rhule would fire either or both of them. I think we’re stuck. Rhule needs to take charge and insist Satt commit to the run.

Iowa

Dude, they are 5-3 with embarrassing losses to Michigan State and Ohio State with a 25th year coach.

Iowa

Not sure I give a shit about the eternal 7-5 or 8-4 Kirk Ferentz football team.

They accept complete mediocrity and occasional Top 25 appearances.

We suck. But being Iowa suck is a whole other level of suck and cope.

Dude is in his 25th season as head coach, is 201-122 and has never won an outright B10 Championship and never even finished in the Top 10 of the polls at the end of any season.

There is suck, and then there is accepting 25 years of mediocre results at best and bragging about it suck.
You know what your right Iowa is shit. So what's that make Nebraska? Silly....stupid pathetic.

Iowa

You know, if Jeff sims wasn’t a turn over machine the offense would have been decent. That bozo just gave the ball away. If he could have ran that system clean I think we would have had a nice record last year.

Iowa is playing a dual threat and their offense loooks like a version of osbornes. I’m jealous.

Iowa

This is what I though Rhule wanted to do, but he doesn't have the discipline to stick to it. He talks about wanting to be this way but then hires a staff that doesn't have this mindset. We need a coach with a killer instinct who knows how to stick to his plan. The one thing Iowa is good at is they don't try and be something they are not. That's the problem Wisconsin is having right now as well. I don't want to accept being a 8-4 or 7-5 team and want to keep trying until we figure it out, but have no faith in our current administration to make the right choice.

How bad is Raiola injury

You can’t see the receivers down field on tv so you assume they’re not getting any separation.. then haarberg comes in and stands in the pocket like a boss and hits multiple receivers in their hands in clutch time. Something’s up with raiola
On that pick 6 Dylan had Fidone WIDE open 15 yards further down the middle of the field. It would have been a huge gain if not 6 points😕

On another play he had a WR 10 yards behind the defense on the east sideline. He threw a couple of nice balls but he’s holding the ball too long. We had 3 huge plays where he trusted his WRs and launched balls in to tight coverage. Those transfer WRs are good on contested balls.

Rhule must make changes TONIGHT

How about Rhett Lashee the coach of SMU? He has the Mustangs rolling...Rhule ain't gonna do it. His Temple/Baylor run was way over rated and his personel evaluation is bad. He had one big diamond in the rough...Hasan Reddick...so he thinks he can win by coaching up "athletes". That was yesterday. Now you have to win with seasoned players and a very tight system. Also, I wonder if big universities have some type of insurance policy to cover early contract buyouts under certain circumstances.

How bad is Raiola injury

I would be shocked if he isn't here next year. His entire family is now tied to the program. Brother. Sister. Uncle. Short of something crazy happening and Rhule gets fired, I don't see it.

I don't think hes too slow to move around. I think he is confused and unsure of himself, plus is obviously injured. I think this is what pressure does to a person. It's why making a bowl game was so important to show a tiny bit of progress. But Rhule f'd that up. Every DC we play knows Raiola, our receivers, and coaches have no answer for pressure. Only way to stop it is consistent running. Was the opposite last year. We needed those long PA passes to try and slow it down. This year need to grind them out or slip by that pressure for some chunk runs.
The run game is a young QBs best friend and some of the times Satterfield’s run design makes no sense. I’m no O line expert but it was obvious that some of the plays asked a guard to do something Superman couldn’t execute.

The refusal to commit to the run game is maddening. Yeah UCLA has a good D line but that same D line is rushing your passer. Run the damned ball more often and you’ll help your QB.
