If UCLA played our schedule...
UTEP: win
Colorado: win (maybe a bit closer though)
N Iowa: win
Illinois: win
Purdue: win
Rutgers: win
Indiana: loss
Ohio St: loss

So records can be deceiving. NU was never a better team despite our record. NU is also 2-5 playing their schedule coming into the game.

My larger point is this loss really shouldn't be a surprise. Our offense is anemic. We need Satt to be replaced. Raiola has arm talent but is showing us there are deficiencies in his current game that he needs to work on and opposing staffs are exposing it. Haarberg should get more playing time, as should Kaelin.
Yes, this might have been the most winnable game left on paper. But they also run a scheme and had a game plan that worked perfectly against us with players that can accomplish it.
It's entirely possible that we match up better against the remaining teams than we did with UCLA. But again, we need to fix the offense to have a chance to win those games.

I saw this one coming. Bienemy outcoached White. Satt? A trained monkey could outcoach him. Chip left good players at UCLA and Bienemy has that Chief’s offense installed and humming. White was exposed.

Their offensive line was also night day better than ours. But Bienemy learned a lot on the sideline next to Andy Reid and called an excellent game..

USC unfortunately seems to be getting better. They found some things in the run game last night and their WRs are going to be a challenge. They schemed up some wide open chunk plays last night. 😕

Potential for dumbest post of the week.
Oh really. So point out the dumbness. People have been stuck on the fact that UCLA was 2-5 coming into the game while NU was 5-3. But those records were both mirages. UCLA is actually the better team and that's what led to the loss yesterday. And some of what constitutes a better team is the play-calling by the OC. Bienemy called a great game. Satterfield called an attrocious game. Again.

I honestly feel like we'll do better against Moss than we did against Garbers. Garbers beat us badly with his scrambling and accurate throws. Moss seems a bit banged up. Also, the odds of a completely healthy Tommi Hill are pretty good after a bye week, which helps against their receiving corps. That said, none of this matters if the offense continues to sputter itself into oblivion.

Until Satterfield isn’t calling plays it’s depressing how worse this offense is regardless if we have a freshman QB starting..

If this makes you feel better about the loss to make up crap that can’t be proven, I guess good for you.

I think UCLA would have lost to Illinois and Colorado based on how they were playing at that point of the season.. Let’s not pretend this is UCLA with Aikman @ QB OK. They barely beat Hawaii

What is frustrating is knowing Iowa will do to UCLA what we refuse to do: run the ball 40 times and beat them by 21.
