Satterfield is the obvious “not a great coordinator” coach. Rhule apparently had to “suggest” to White that we needed to go to 4 man fronts during a game this year but at least I see in game adjustments from him that I believe he’s initiating. The offense has put tremendous pressure on our defense.I think this is pretty accurate. You get to a certain point and you either ARE a good coach or you are not. I know there is experience factors and learning the ropes but this is not rocket science. If you have not "figured it out" at a certain point, you are probably not all of a sudden going to become a great coach.

How hard do we think it would be to replace any, and I mean ANY, coach on this entire staff?
After 1 3/4 seasons, EVERY single coach has been exposed more than once.
The AD can motivate the shit out of the HC, the HC can motivate the shit out of the coordinators and position coaches.
At the end of the day----as a coach, you either have it or you don't.
I’m not ready to say this is a bad staff top to bottom. There are obvious problems and having to can our DB coach late has really hurt us. The elephant in the room is Satterfield’s failure. IMO you start there and see what happens.Overall, top to bottom, this is just a bad coaching staff.

You are correct. It was also related to a study helping to avoid injury / concussions so not totally a bad thing.I think you are talking about smilin Mike and the rugby tackling deal.
I will not be one bit surprised to see Indiana beat OSU in Columbus in a couple weeks. This week the Buckeyes have Purdue, next week Northwestern, then Indiana at home.IF they make the playoff, IU will pay him with an extension.
I think you are talking about smilin Mike and the rugby tackling deal.Sounds like the time Frost brought in outside consultants to teach tackling because we didn't have anyone on the roster that could wrap up a ball carrier.
The problem isn't every player on the roster.
The problem is, Rhule hired a SHIT coach to run his offense.
That can be fixed. Whether or not Rhule has the nads to do it remains to be seen.
Oh for sure. I mean, he will get an extension regardless. Might as well try and "lock him up" 64 years old...sign him until he is 74...and hopefully be done with it.IF they make the playoff, IU will pay him with an extension.
Overall, top to bottom, this is just a bad coaching staff.Rhule said they were evaluating everything. That said, the offense is the most obvious problem. It gets pretty damned tough for your defense when your offense keeps stacking 3 and outs.
Clarkeyes, always picking the years that work best for them. Why are you trying to hitch your wagon to Colorado? We did beat them!I have no idea what a Clarkeye is.
That's awesome you were able to experience those glory days 30+ years ago.
I'm 32 years old - Nebraska's best season was when Nebraska lost to Texas in the Big 12 Championship game. Let me repeat that, Nebraska's best season is when they lost the conference championship.
My daughter is a 7th grader, Nebraska hasn't had a winning season since she has been in school.
Since joining the Big Ten - Nebraska is 4-9 against Iowa, which included 7 straight losses.
Nebraska is 1-3 against Colorado and currently, Colorado is the better football program, is bowl eligible and is competing for a conference championship appearance.
Other programs that have hired a new coach and have had success within 2 seasons: Indiana, let's add in UCLA, Duke, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Illinois, Washington and Northwestern to just name a few.
As I mentioned earlier, the success Nebraska had 20+ years ago is irrelevant and does not matter. Nebraska's historic traditions of winning, national championships, pointless sellout steak do not matter anymore when the current era Nebraska teams don't follow the tradition.
In the what have you done lately category- Nebraska is at the very bottom. I can't think of a team that has done worse than Nebraska over the past decade.
You can talk smack about Colorado and Iowa all you want but you're just living in the 90s while they're living in the NOW.
IF they make the playoff, IU will pay him with an extension.Right?
Unless the money is just that big of a difference, why go?
Look, in 120 years of IU football this is the first time they have been 9-0. He can finish 9-4 and he is a god. He can go 6-6 the next 5 years and be
39-34 and STILL go down as one of their best coaches in history.
Also, feel free to check my math because I suck at it.
True but I understand it is a tightrope because the pressure is to win now.And the point is that those employees that can't be fixed get fired. Or, in this case, the players get benched. That's on the coach
Wrong on both accounts. Pretty typical of you. First of all his wife didn’t want to move because of the kids situation.and second he is not calling plays so he is not on control of any play calling.didn't want to work for Rhule/Satt
likely not a decision he's regretting
We got smoked. Welcome to the NFL. Still happy with where we sit and Detroit is definitely a problem. Even as a Packers fan I really like Dan Campbell, and I love his Applebee's commercials.the Packers fans who love bumping this thread are really quiet today.
