This is going to be a good thing for Nebraska football. Nebraska needs to be focused in every respect, and I don't believe there is any way to efficiently coach a roster of 150+ players. Guys who could be "developed" are getting lost in the shuffle. I guarantee multiple points this season Rhule has thought "damn, I forgot about that guy" or maybe even "who the hell is this guy?" Sure, we might lose a few guys who could have eventually contributed, but that will be more than offset by focusing on a smaller number and getting them the reps and coaching that is so critical. I'm glad the NCAA is making a decision that we're too dumb to make ourselves.
I think the context is in the stress involved in these types of games. Not that he's afraid of competing against tough teams, but the extra pressure involved with competing against a team that you are consistently measured against.Fred loses me with the "not very much fun for the coach" stuff.
A lot of Power 5 basketball coaches seem to think it's a lot more fun to play Florida A&M, Lindenwood and Delaware State year after year, while collecting enormous salaries and bonuses. Good work if you can get it, I suppose, but fans actually like to see competitive basketball.
Go to Minneapolis instead
Went in October, barely got out alive. The foliage was so beautiful I nearly crashed the truck.Go to Minneapolis instead
Keegan Smith out of Missouri as a better upside..What happened to the two big time WR’s out of Bellevue west from last years class? Any potential there?
No...I OWE THE WORLD AN APOLOGYHere’s an Idiot Out Wondering Around!
Here’s an Idiot Out Wondering Around! If you’re struggling with this the N on helmet for knowledge is real.
Well he had plenty of losses his first 3 years here.I looked at when Fredward was hired...cannot believe it was only 2019? Am I seeing that right? Feels like he has 2 decades worth of losses here.
Exactly right it’s going to funnel down to lower levels. This is going to cost hundreds of kids the chance to have college paid for by NIL support. There's going to be a lot of high schoolers who would have had a shot at a scholarship at the D2 level to end up at lower levels as those D1 kids flood FCS and D2 programs.
College football is deadAs far as I can tell, with the current roster + incoming recruits we are at 171 players. We have 16 players who will have exhausted their eligibility, so that means we will need around 50 players to enter the portal and/or be processed. And this is before adding any players from the portal, so we could be looking at 60+ players leaving the prgram.
Going to be a wild off-season
he'd have been a 5* if he grew up in TX or FL or CA.Below are some of his highlights from HS. Sometimes you wonder how a kids like this is a 5.5 3-star and MC was almost a 5-star. I remember saying the same thing when we got Tyjon Lindsay in the class after JD Spielman. How can Lindsay be a 5-star and Spielman only a 3-star?
