This is his 1st year and had he been here for winter conditioning and the spring game, the secondary would be light years from where they are now. New cat, new way of teaching and Butler's teaching is far Coopers was. Butler's teaching pro style techniques with a pro style scheme and our safties are running in 2 different schemes at the same time. Cooper just resigned back in July and Butler got here the 1st part of August and didn't even have a full month with them the before the 1st game and kinda hard to pick up a new scheme/s on the fly no matter haow good a player or players are. Next year, the secondary will be light years better!
On the other hand, look what Dana has done with those assistants in 3 weeks. Maybe Dana wants changes or maybe Dana thinks he can work with the guys we already have.IF Dana stays, the majority of the offensive staff needs to go. They've had 2 springs, 2 falls and 20 ballgames to prove their worth. They didn't all just magically start coaching better in the last 2 weeks. Its all because of the Dana influence on the entire unit.
If Dana leaves, this will be the same old sad sack of shit coaching staff as we've become accustomed to. And Rhule will be headed down the road in a couple of years.
Are you kidding. And you actually wonder why people give you crap. See if you can figure it out before you respond. Try using your brain. And when he did see the field, he immediately got blown by. He's been a non-factor this year just as I predicted and was ridiculed for.
Bothso was alvano the problem or the long snapper?
Totally agree, I get the feeling some don't understand, how offensive play calling can keep a defense on their heels. If you have a quarterback who also can read the defense can look like a completely different team with the same offense. I was thinking how sad for the players because I feel we would have had a chance at considerably more wins.Hypothetical....
Say the Huskers beat Iowa and a bowl opponent and finish 8-5.
What you think NU's record "could" have been had DH came to the rescue after the Indiana blowout?
Losses to OSU, UCLA, and USC? I highly doubt it, probably win 2 of those 3 and could have finished this year 10-3?
Has little to do with the Head Coach and 9 other coaches, and everything to do with Dana.
I'm willing to buy that. That's a theory that will be tested next year. If the secondary doesn't look significantly better next year, then Butler needs to be sent packing. This is his 1st year and had he been here for winter conditioning and the spring game, the secondary would be light years from where they are now. New cat, new way of teaching and Butler's teaching is far Coopers was. We did lose our best corner to graduation. That was huge. Hill’s injury played a big factor as well. Gifford has been very inconsistent and a couple of his mental mistakes have cost us chunk plays. Javin Wright made some good plays yesterday. It's hard to make sense. Other than Cooper nothing else has really changed. My guess is they (Rhule/White) have allowed Butler to have a bit of a say in how they play on the back end coverage wise and quite frankly it's been to the detriment of the defense as a whole.
I love those guys and all they have put in time wise but I'm ready for every secondary guy playing significant minutes NOT named Wright to move on. Step slow, missed tackles, blown coverage. Whatever weaknesses they had last year was hid or masked well with Coop as coach. I know Butlers resume but color me not impressed year one with anything I seen from him.
That all said we are going bowling and that's a great thing. Hope like hell they move on from those older guys who wanna come back like Buford. My guess is they won't tho... especially with his brother still being here.
Holla
I like it. So much easier to read and follow. It has all been mental this year as evidenced by the poor play calling and execution by the players. What we did to Wisconsin yesterday coupled with what I called which was an tOSU thumping of Indiana. This just proves, our game against them was nothing more than a fluke. When things are operating properly, you can see a teams actual talent which we have planty of and speed which we have plethora of on both sides of the ball. We'd be 10-1 or undefeated right now.
We got fk'd badly at Ohio St in a game that was ours and people wanna know what our playing ceiling is, just just look to tOSU. We humiliated the Buckeyes offense on their own field holding them to still season low's across the board and the O was still able to move the ball on them with Satt at the helm and there was no way in hell those officials were gonna let the Buckeyes lose that game. If you wanna get real, Illinois, tOSU, UCLA and USC were most definitely ours and the losse were ALL on the offense.
The Blackshirts gave them chance after chance after chance in every one of those games to win it and outside very poor officiating, the offense like clockwork shit all over themselves. With what we saw yesterday with the O, we win all of the games it lost for us! The Blackshirts have been the futhest things with the problems of this team this year and as it the O with an unending bout of mental retardation until yesterday.
Whew that is rough. Football can be an unforgiving game
Don't forget the experienced safety who should've helped over the top but got caught flat footed and looking in the backfield. Guess whoWith a comfortable lead I think Rhule wanted to get some younger players like Blye Hill in the game and give them some game experience which lead to a post play he was beaten on..
Yeah he was watching the backfield until it was way too lateBut what happened with the safety on that play? The tv replay showed the safety stuck in place way behind the play instead of playing deep.
And in a big way..A little over the top… as others have stated, Pennsy is a good one. May share his emotion from time to time, but he’s not one to castigate.
You have missed the mark with this one.
Didn't see or miss himDid he play after he got his usual false start? I know he’s a terrible blocker maybe that’s why we saw a lot of the other two tight ends
