We need to add Linebackers to this class

Who are some LBs in the program that are going on their 2nd and 3rd year that might step up with some new coaching? Or are we cutting some bait here?

Would love to see Coleman at LB. Also wouldn't mind seeing Van Poppel and the SD recruit at OL. The emphasis on speed and big guys that can be developed during their first 2-3 years in the program remind me a little of TO's recruiting.

Seems like we've been fed the "we're focusing on recruiting speed" coach's speak for the past 20 years. Hopefully, this time its real.

Good point. Still nice to see two track/football guys who can take the top off defenses and open things up a little (hopefully) for the other receivers and backs.

The new system may redefine needs, but they need to assess progress of Mikai Gbayor, Randolph Kpai (injured), and Seth Malcom.

Kpai got some mentions before injury, and I thought Mikai could be a baller, but never have I heard his named mentioned by former coaches.
Seth was always a project, not sure where he’s at now, last mention was still undersized and learning.

We have very little proven play there, and Henrich is coming off another injury.
Also depends how the Gunnerson, Butler Nelson types fit in the new formations and whatnot.

Edit: Garrett Snodgrass also taking up a scholly without contributing.
Jake Appleget is young, but needs to show what he can do.

I think we could make it work with who we've got currently. But getting one in the portal or HS would be great regardless!

do we have alot of spots left? seems we might want to wait for the bowls to get done, and see if there's any good portal guys entering

What's the deal with Gunnerson?
He’s been playing. Think he was just a notch behind some veterans and splitting the reserve role with Butler.
Hope he can take the next step.
We need competition, and he at least provides some decent depth at worst.
