Note to Fred Hoiberg

We fired Palini because Harvey Perlman couldn’t stand him and told the AD to fire him. Pelini was an asshole but he also won nine or 10 games every season. Talent levels did slip under Bo, but he did recruit football players. Talent levels fell off a cliff during the tenure of his successor and didn’t improve much during Frost’s tenure, although all of those teams had sufficient talent to make a bowl game. They just weren’t good enough at being football players and didn’t receive solid coaching.

Harvey couldn’t stand him because… as I said originally and paraphrased again, and am now repeating myself a third time… he was huge douchebag who dogged fans, underperformed via plateaued progress, and showed little interest in self improvement, whether that be on the field coaching adjustments or putting in reasonable effort on the recruiting trail. As I said originally, his embarrassing, embarrassing (twice so you hear it) career after us speaks for itself.

He did win 9 or 10 games, I agree. Talent levels fell off with Mike Riley, I agree.

What are we talking about here guys? This place is wild, people keep replying to me thinking they disagree but essentially say the same thing. Or maybe say what mean? Because other than you possibly trying to blame Harvey for Bo being a huge douchebag, or you being a Bo apologist in 2025 (ha really??), I think I agree with what you said.

Bo deserved to be fired. But Harvey Perlman is a POS and had no clue on how to run anything. Look who Harvey hired . Steve P and Shawn eichorst. He offered Shawn a 1 million dollar contract without talking to anyone at Miami about him . He just took the word of Barry Alverez .

@TarheelHuskerFan I don't think we are taking many more guys. This is in response to your comment about we are grabbing more kids. I am thinking we only take one more unless more on the current roster go into the portal

Grace took part in Senior Day, so not sure if he’s coming back or not. Good student who seems on track to graduate, so he might have decided to move on.

Probably but 6 -7 years from now when someone else is coaching Duke will win the Crowm tournament and Fred will be watching from some resort bar . He will tell everyone I coached the first crown champion in 2025.

Well Pozzato to Xavier... means Ausar is our last hope at landing a SF/PF type athlete. The problem I have is Fred makes our roster so thin at certain positions. He is a 100% a must get, but he also can't get injured! The only other kid on the roster with a similar skill set is Bolis,and the jury is still out on him.

Edit: Ausar is not known for defense either, so that part of his game is going to need to change. He is not a blocker, and with our roster we will have ZERO rim protectors
