We are who we are

The bad part is, Riley does some great things, but there is literally no progress. When Virginia Tech got Fuentes, you can physically see progress. Herman at Texas, you can see progress. At NU we are seeing no progress on the field. Recruiting yes, field no.

Yep I realize that and am getting tired of saying this so it’s the last time. One sub .500 season would be understandable...not acceptable, but understandable.

But Kchu5 said with Frost “some losing seasons” would be ok because he would eventually right the ship. Why? That implies multiple losing seasons and that should never be accepted here. That Frost is a Nebraska guy seems to be the only reason we are oknwith losing seasons. We should be just as demanding on a Frost or a Meyer or a Saban.
If not we might as well burn the stadium down and build a playground for unicorns with rainbows and sprinkles because we are ok with fantasy land.
He's one poster. One.
Bring up my post where I said a losing season next year is not acceptable regardless of who's coaching.

Tom Hires:
Frank: .753
Bo: .713

Non Tom Hires:
Bill: .551
Mike: .563

Thank you Toms Wife! That's a monster sized difference to say the least. Frank & Bo weren't great but they were wayyyyyyyyy better than Clownahan & MR.

Ok-- now u got my attention-- if he is interested, pay da man

ANY coach will have interest if you are serious about getting them. Nebraska hasn't been serious about getting a high profile coach. When you have coaches making twice the amount at a school with nowhere near the expectations as Nebraska why would you consider the place.

What's funny is that Frank's winning percentage at Nebraska would put him in the top 10 of highest winning percentage of active coaches. Bo's would put him in the top 20.

Not sure what you are talking about. The post you referenced was in reply to scarlet.
And the one poster.....the one....is the only one here I have seen say more than one losing season would be acceptable.

Bo had to go though, also there is a reason he is in 1-aa. Toxic

while true, it is telling to me that Frank climbed no higher than the Ohio job - he still hasn't won a MAC title and Pelini ended up at YSU. If Solich was truly a top college football coach I would think he would have had more success in the MAC.

True dat-- I've always said you can tell the value of a coach by his next job.... we are 0-4 since Tom retired-- heck Callahan has been nothing higher than an OL coach since he left!

Yes, he's the only one. So why so much focus on it? You're treating it like it's the majority opinion.
No big deal I could be misunderstanding your reasons for posting about it.

Perfect example of why Nebraska is in this mess. A ton of the fan base is stupid enough to think the midget and 408 were competent coaches.
Huh? Those numbers show the exact opposite of what you're saying.

If Nebraska is going to blow this up now they better get real serious about getting a stud coach and Frost isn't it. You make the call to Washington and offer Peterson up to 7 or 8 million a year and be done with it. If he said no, do what it takes to get him here He could be had IMO.

How can u possibly know Frost isn't a stud coach? Listen, I don't know who is the right HC for us but to say he's not ready is just ignorant- the man was a OC at a big time school and for all appearances has turned a terrible team (0-12 the year before) around. Let the search committee do what they're paid to do along with a new AD and go from there.

IMO SF would be successful quickly at NU. Hes ultra competitive and a great motivator. He could sell this program to recruits better than most coaches for obvious reasons. Who can really say if hes 100% ready? But at this point we're staring down the barrel of a 3-9 or 4-8 season. I would like to see if SF can do better.
