There's hope for next year no matter who we hire. We've got better talent than certainly our D has shown. Good heavens Diaco laid an egg. We should have know after his press conference this week that he had thrown in the towel.
This season could have been TOTALLY DIFFERENT if they had put POB in after the first interception against NIU. He may not have the precision and zip Lee has, but makes better decisions (IMHO), can run, and doesn't fold up like a cheap suit in the pocket.
Obrien appears to have a very slow release, I was shocked.
This, and late the offensive line seemed to just not even care. Every play, POB was surrounded by Gophers. That was a pathetic effort all around.
Give it time. At Rancho Santa Margarita he had a good line and he practiced against a defense who actually rushed him. He needs to get used to every time he goes back to pass he is taking his life in his hands.
Remember he probably took 5% of the snaps in practice this week. Just his scrambling alone is a huge element that has been missing from this offense.
He should have been given some playing time much earlier to see what he can do during a game.
He practices against our d-line so he wasn't prepared for a pass rush.
