Trent Bray Skipping Bowl Game as HC

Not sure if any of you saw this quote but after being appointed Head Coach at Oregon State, Bray wished his players well in their bowl game but said he would not be there.

"I'm fired up about you guys and the opportunity in the bowl game. Wish I could be there with you, but I'll be around at practice. You're in great hands and I look forward to watching you guys go out there."

Later said that he would rather spend his time assembling his staff and focusing on recruiting.

Wait, isn't he THEIR new HC and wasn't he already coaching them? This one seems weird.

These guys act like it is impossible to do a few things at once.

You know how many dudes I have coached with that teach all day, coach, pick up kids, go grocery shopping, run errands, do plans, watch film...

These college coaches are starting to act like ****ing fireman and female elementary teachers.

Isn't he already on staff lol...this doesn't make any sense, especially since he still plans to be around at practice.

I think this is correct. Hynson (WR coach named interim) will keep the interim role through the bowl game. I read that Bray was planning to go with Smith to MSU when OSU decided to name Hynson interim. So, I'm guessing Hynson had already reassigned Bray's DC duties for the bowl game. I agree it would be odd for Bray not even to attend the bowl game (as a spectator), but I get him not wanting to be on the sidelines or up in the booth and potentially undermine the interim staff's opportunity to coach the team.

I don’t understand this at all , Hell Fickle coached Wisconsin in the bowl game last year.
 
Another cluelessly poor message to put out. There’s a way to focus on staff and recruiting while NOT announcing to the world that you don’t care about the current team.

He's going to be busy buying all those pairs of handcuffs to place on the players after the bowl game so they don't escape via the portal. :)

Semi-agree about firemen, but you are SPOT ON about elementary teachers

Come on, We know coaches don't teach real classes, make their wives pick up the kids, make their wives go grocery shopping, make their wives run errands, or their ex-wives do all that and they don't do any of that shit and just eat Hungry-man dinners after not really grading their health class "tests".

How about that woman in Florida going around posing as a homeschool teacher or whatever and then sexually assaulting teenage boys? People get off on some weird stuff because she looked attractive enough to be able to bang different guys all day long.
