Trev Alberts vote of confidence for HC

Everyone knows that a vote of confidence is tantamount to saying that a guy's on thin ice. It's his first year. Nothing needs to be said regarding the HC.

I find it very interesting that Trev has not come out in major support of his first year HC. Wouldn’t you think Trev would be out supporting him and asking fans to be patient. With that being said it raises some very interesting questions.
1) Is there really something to the A&M rumors or another school
2) Truth to Ted Carter pressuring Trev to hire Rhule
3) Matt never was Trev’s guy and going to let him sink or swim
Something just doesn’t feel right with this whole situation. I think it is going to be a very interesting winter. Buckle up……
Trev felt no need to offer a vote of confidence because he knew Rhule had a big job ahead of him to rebuild this team and offering a vote of confidence would have caused more speculation and doubt.
Trev also knows that there has been improvement on this team, especially on the unit he is most interested in, the defense.

A&M is not going to pay out 80 million in buyout just to hire a guy who just went 5-7 in the weakest P5 division.

Not a knock on Rhule but the optics would be terrible and their fanbase would already want him fired
According to Husker247...the buyout begins at $7 million the first year, and goes down to $6 million in 2024, $5 million in 2025, $4 million in 2006, $3.5 million in 2027 through 2029, and $2 million in 2030.

The $80 million is Jimbo Fisher's buyout.

He asked about fan division origins. It was not Pelini, but Frank Solich and his firing. That is all.

Younger fans will not understand what that did to our fanbase. It's natural.
Had Callahan won, Frank would have been forgotten. What caused the fanbase to fold upon itself was losing its elite status and subsequently going down the sewer. Solich began the downfall and others perpetuated it. Some more than others. Everyone is pissed about the results and fight with each other over them. If we’re like Michigan or Ohio St right now, this animosity would be at a trickle

It would be replayed forever if he actually said that. Lol
he would be universally respected for telling the truth

instead he's just another former ESPN employee blowing the same hot air here he did there

Who the hell isn’t disappointed on the season, no question we pissed at least 4 games down our leg and no question Rhule game management in question but we also have 3 QB’s that had a hand in losing those 4 games as well..

Rhule is known as a builder and that is why Trev hired him, time to see what he accomplishes the next 2 years..
Bolded is spot on.

Rhule's forte is rebuilding and it's ugly. Part of it is his fault with play-calling that was weird. Part of it was selecting Sims, but I acknowledge that he probably struck out on QBs that he wanted more. Accept that for what it is and move on. Rhule needs to be judged in three years. He can and should be be criticized now for decisions but it's base insanity to suggest going on the coaching carousel after one year, just nuts to suggest it. THERE WILL BE NO COMPETENT COACH WHO WOULD COME HERE IF THE PROGRAM DID THAT.

Trolls see ripe picking and are taking advantage of it.

Lets see... Trev was an AD at the high-school level program called UNO. Does anyone think that this clown would would have been hired if he was not an alum? Was he qualified to run a former big-time program? Hell no. Is anyone suprised Trev hired a .500 coach? Was Rhule hired because he agreed to take advise from a Husker legend who quit the program 25 years ago, but apparently still runs it? Husker nation deserves better. However, they get what they deserve. Move on. The past is over. Until people realize this, it will never change. Good luck, Matt. I am sure next year will be better.

Advise huh

Good Lord.

Frank Solich should never have been named HC.

Trev don’t have to say anything. For one most of the fan base isn’t upset with rhule. For two, he’s $100 million invested in a coaching staff that he won’t seriously think about booting for 3-4 years. He’s not going to change his fundamental outlook on here every week like the drunken blowhards that can’t get over the roller coaster of a rebuild.

Trevs job is not to be the highlight take on big red over reaction. He understands what he brought rhule into do, and there’s going to be a rough curve of progress, but nothing is guaranteed.
