Agree, TO was one of a kind, a generational play caller and offensive minds! I am not a fan of Satterfield, yes he calls some good plays but his total offensive strategy and identity escapes me, especially in the second half, his adjustments are head scratchers! Instead of a defined strategy from seeing their D in the first half, it’s more like throwing spaghetti against the wall and seeing what sticks, checkers would be an improvement!!
Same feeling here. With what Satt had to work with last year, and deal with (turnovers), I feel like this is Satt's first year calling his offense.
TO would get eaten alive in today's day and age of college football. No way would the modern fan be patient enough to watch his offense in the early part of games.
Oh jfc. So many people were constantly pissed at T.O. and his play calling. Was constantly told that he runs too much and needs to spread teams out more.
We should just play like we’re in a 2 minute drill all the time. Or just run every play. Switch between the 2.

Interesting comment. TO himself has stated that his offense WOULD, in fact, be effective in this “modern” age of college football. I suppose there were some “chess like” decisions TO made during the course of a game, but the overriding factor he enjoyed so much success is simply because of the “option” part of a run play. TO referred to it as a “shell game” not a chess game. With a QB running the ball he always had the choice of giving it to another guy trailing him—wasn’t easy to defend then and not easy to defend now.

Why? Do you believe that today's fans want to see short side options, and QB's that can't throw more than PA passes? Do you think fans would have the patience to run the ball and have to punt multiple times early in the game in order to set up the PA pass later or to wear down our opponent?
WTF do you mean wtf am I talking about? Today's college fan...Hell 20 years ago college fan. Has no patience for wearing a team down with a run game. We live in an instant gratification society. Just read this board any given Saturday.
Ya with all Americans all over the field. What would it look like with NU's teams of the last 15 years? You think that offense is going to pull in a bunch of top tier recruits in today's day and age?
Wrong. Do a poll on this board if we should be a run oriented or pass oriented team.
That has nothing to do with what we are talking about. There's a difference between a mobile QB and an option based offense. Of course you know that, you just like to try to twist the topic.
