Scott Frost: "I don't think you could run Oregon's offense at Wisconsin."

Frost has 2 recruits and a #74 team recruiting ranking.
The two recruits thing shocks me; is he being selective in offers early??? They lost horribly; but there is talent and it is South. Winning will turn it; I definitely would have wanted the opportunity in his position.

I doubt it is about being selective and it has more about a being a new coach, in his first year, taking over a win-less team, and not having a bunch of ties to the area. It is going to take some time for him to get it going.

I don't think he was making excuses as some in here seem to be inclined to read him. He was pimping UCF's recruiting advantages. If anything, he is inviting more scrutiny with his answers, not less.

I am not one at all that is on the "Scott Frost is going to do awesome at UCF!" bandwagon(not that I'm sure that he won't either), but 2 recruits at this point from a team that was winless last year is not that bad. We only had 2 recruits at this point last year(we got our 3rd-Patrick O'Brien on May 20th).

Not that I have ever followed UCF recruiting at any level, I would assume that it is a school that will get mostly 2 stars and some 3 stars with the occasional troubled 4 star that commits to them as they have screwed themselves out of a big time opportunity with grades or trouble with the law. I can see them getting a few kids at the last minute that get shunned from the larger schools at the last moment as well. But I could be wrong.

If he spent as much time recruiting Florida as he does recruiting Nebraska he might have some positive results.
Don't know how much time he has spent in Nebraska but I am certain his connections are good. To date UCF is very positive with Frost. They are really happy with the new uniforms Phil Knight had Nike make for them.

I wish Coach Frost the best at UCF and I hope he can do great things there. It's okay to want Frost to do well and also root for Riley and Nebraska. The two don't contradict another.

Yeah, I don't know enough about his situation or style to really offer an opinion either way, was just offering those stats as to where he is currently at.

Trying to put myself in a player's shoes, I'd probably like to play for the guy, but as another said, UCF might be a plan B type of situation.

I'm going to guess that Scott might have to take more chances on players with possible character issues or grade issues as well. I def want to see him do well, and I think Husker nation is watching with some curiosity.

He has had first hand experience working for some of the best head coaches in college football and will know how to run a program. IMO, he will be just fine. He should be in no rush to fill his recruiting class. IF UCF can come out strong early in the season and the team is as much fun to watch as Oregon has been at times, kids will want to play for him. Orlando is a pretty darned attractive spot to go to school I would think.

Now he offers Vedral??? i figured there were a dozen guys in central Florida that would compare favorably to Vedral.

Ya I don't get it at all.
Vedral would be a good get for him and at least on par with what he could do locally. He's trying to build a new culture at UCF and kids like Vedral would help him do that. He may also be doing it in part to help an old buddy's kid squeeze an offer out of Riley. He's still at TO guy too so who knows, he may just be doing it to pimp Eichorst and Riley.

If the last part is true, then it proves he is in no way ready for the Nebraska job, and still has alot of growing up to do. I doubt someone would do that to mess with their alma-mater, but judging by the actions of some of our childish "fans".... anything is possible.

If the last statement is true, it would be a dbag thing to do and I don't want him anywhere near the Nebraska job ever, and I hope he fails miserably at Central Florida.

If people think this offer was done to mess with Nebraska it means you think Scott Frost is some small person and you also think that Coach Riley is some loser that will go ahead and throw an offer out to anyone because he feels heat from a former husker player…Riley is way better than that...
