If he sniffs the highlighter there is a small chance that he kills every single dumbass brain cell, and he is only left with ones that will make him a good OC.He only has one running play so probably no need to highlight.

He and the Field Goal Coordinator have been on a month long bender in Vegas.Has he been out sick??? What the hell.
The fact Raiola is absolutely no threat running the ball makes our run game non existent.posted in another thread, but has a place here, too:
we ranked 9th in the country in 40+ yard runs last year with the same (or worse) personnel in the backfield
we ranked 2nd in the B1G in 50+ yard plays last year with the same (or worse) personnel on the outside
bringing in the top high school QB in the country has led to a less explosive offense than the one we watched a year ago
that is almost impossible to fathom
I'm tempted to request you post a full body picture of you in just shorts, but I don't want to subject anyone to that.Rhule is soft.
this team is a direct reflection of who he is.
paunchy, unkempt, weak.
talk first, action later (or never).
If "fans" and parents could hear what coaches talk about when they are chatting during pregame they would be shocked. So many jokes, so much ripping on their players. It really is the best! One time before a JV Basketball game I was bullshiting with the HC of the other team and started talking about JV kids warming up. He said something like
"We have this new kid, who might be mentally retarded, but he can jump like a deer". I was like "which one is he" and he replied "The one over there playing with his dick". And sure enough, some tall, skinny kid was messing with his junk. Fast forward, and that retarded kid playing with his junk dunked on our JV like three times.
Good coaches, bosses, leaders lead by finding the team's weaknesses and strengths and adjust accordingly.Ill say it again. We can run the ball but the zone read game should be shelved with DR at the helm. I agree that he has to commit and be patient with it.
I think we need to get under center from time to time and run down hill. Not everything has to be zone blocked. Gap scheme some of it too.
I know popular opinion is that we are worthless at every position outside of QB, but I don't believe that to be entirely true. I think we just need to focus in on what our current players can do best. That remains to be seen, but i know the zone read game with DR is not the answer.
I wonder if DR has a certain minimum number of attempts per game written into his contract
I don' t know if it has to be I formation persay but we could definitely use a sprinkling of power football from time to time and not just on 3rd and short. we can still run 3 and 4 wides too. I just feel like this OL is not equipped to do some of the stuff that we are making them do. Agree they need to find what works for these guys and for our young QB. 175 plays to memorize isn't it.Good coaches, bosses, leaders lead by finding the team's weaknesses and strengths and adjust accordingly.
I agree with you, Cav. I think we run more I-form and singleback, 2 TE sets. Put Barney in motion
this would require a set of testiclesI can see Satt calling 20+ run plays in a row this Sat, some into 7-8 man fronts just to stick it to the masses
If your team can only rush when you have a RB at QB, you don't know how to scheme a rushing game. The fact Raiola is absolutely no threat running the ball makes our run game non existent.
You talk constantly about being aggressive, running the football all things that Paterno and TO did with much success.Rhule is soft.

Then the bell rings and you turn into Mike Leach.
I don't want to brag but when I was forced to call offense for 4 seasons (retirement and I got stuck with it), I did something that, well, maybe if it got out it might literally change the way OC's call a game.
So, I was always on the sidelines, not up in the box, and I would have my call sheet (play sheet) with me, it was laminated (no, that is not the revolutionary part) and I would have all the plays listed out for that week.
I would have them listed by run play and pass plays and then trick plays.
But THEN, this is the part that I think could be a game changer. I would use a HIGHLIGHTER to highlight the plays I wanted to make sure got called the most, which were our running plays. One of my Asst Coaches would also keep track of how many times we ran and passed the ball.
But maybe Satt just needs a highlighter and he can highlight the running plays. I don't know, maybe that would not work at the college level.
We would also have goal boards for each game. Goals like
Run for over 125 yards
Over 30 rushing attempts
Identify 4 hot moms in the stands
His play designs suck.
His game day play calling sucks.
He doesn’t recruit.
$1.4 million for what exactly?
soft, chinless, pencil-necked dorks like Satt don't become tough overnight
this is who he is
he bitched about having to run the football all last year
Do coaches look at "yards per play" to measure their offense? Maybe they do, I have no idea.
You would think if you’re an offensive coordinator being paid millions it would be a stat you’d be aware ofDo coaches look at "yards per play" to measure their offense? Maybe they do, I have no idea.
Of course.Do coaches look at "yards per play" to measure their offense? Maybe they do, I have no idea.
nopeI'm hoping Satt's words sound much better than they read.
The OL isn't stellar by any stretch of the imagination, but don't forget that the tight ends have a reputation for being atrocious at blocking inline and the WR crew is not blocking either so when we talk about 2nd level, we have to take that into account. My theory is that Dylan is more comfortable out of shotgun, but without a running threat at QB it's pretty tough to run against (usually) seven in the box. It would be better to run out of I formation with a fullback, but then that limits other things. They could also go shotgun with two backs-- I've heard that could help but I'm not a coach and I can't explain why that would be.some are, but some are zone read. I have no problem with the zone run game other than our OL sucks at second level blocks. Im just saying that any element of QB in the run game is a silly endeavor. That part needs to be shelved. He is showing the element of read which slows the run down. It's stupid. just hand the damn thing off down hill.

Bottom line, scoring is hard for this team. If teams can limit the big play and force us to score off of these 10+ play drives we are screwed. I think that's why we're seeing teams just grab our WR's if they get beat deep. Give us the penalty yards, no big deal....
We are ****ed. My God man. He should be canned just for that answer. It’s very telling.
Here I thought you were going to say eenie meenie minee mo and randomly pick something. Whether written, conscious, unconscious, subconscious this has to be at play. Dylan has to be the center point of the offense, without getting hit and without exposing his uncle's oline has being dangerous to the health of the qb, while making the transfer WR happy and making it seem like a place guys will want to transfer to...RB is minimized in the NFL game and it isn't necessary to recruit transfer RBs as they have become so interchangeable with slot WR. Of course, a smart coach would understand that the game has moved so far towards small ball, that a power-based offense that can change tempo and control the clock might become very effective, especially coupled with a deep defense. But we would surely lose Dylan in such a case. My money is on the side that the coaches are scammers and incompetent and are trying to trick the fans as long as they can to get the biggest checks possible. Human nature is such that if you give a guy 1-5 million for failing upward he is going to keep failing.I wonder if DR has a certain minimum number of attempts per game written into his contract
