Rhule signing day notes

We have essentially the same offense from last year and a true freshman QB. We have nothing but a lot of blind faith to turn around the 120th ranked offense in the country.

-Today is a day of gratitude-Coach Rhule's son will be a student at UNL next year-Grateful for all the players, believes they've all come for the right reasons-Can't recruit at this level without investment and belief from the top-City of Lincoln blows recruits away-Hard to send kids from Florida to Nebraska, but the welcoming nature of the staff and state makes it easy-Proud of all the legacies and family ties-Coach Osborne is one of our best recruiters-Thanks Tommy Frazier and Eric Crouch, they come on campus and meet players-This signing class is indicative of our culture-On a personal note, Coach Rhule thanks Coach Cook and Nebraska volleyball for what they did this year-1890 Initiative is doing a great job, thanks them-Player are our best recruiters-People are excited about being a part of this program-Never too interested in one-year quarterbacks-Chubba and Heinrich have earned the chance to go compete in the spring-Daniel Kaelin has been very loyal, he had opportunities this past weekend and decided to stay home-Dylan Raiola called Coach Rhule and explained that his heart is in Lincoln, Rhule told him to make sure he's serious about this before visiting-Want to teach our QB's how to play, which is why we didn't want a one-year guy-Not answering QB coach questions, today is about the players-Dylan Raiola loves football, talking football, and is very kind-This is the very beginning of his journey-Try to be as honest as possible when discussing the QB drama the last few weeks-Not going to apologize to current players for bringing in transfers as long as they're keeping their scholarship-Once Raiola commit to Georgia, Coach Rhule didn't keep in touch for the most part-Donovan Raiola told Coach Rhule about Grant Brix when Rhule was first hired-Grant Brix is very athletic and talented, needs to be developed-All QB's are competing for the starting job - "competition is key"-Transfer DB Blye Hill has years to develop and be a really good player-Gives credit to Evan Cooper, Phillip Simpson, for recruiting Miami, Florida-Because of camps, we got really talented walk-ons to commit as PWO-Carter Nelson is a position-less player-He fits in the 49ers model-We're already kind of a position-less defense, want to be a position-less offense-Part of it is finding big name recruits, but also need to find hidden talent by utilizing camps and film-Coach Rhule doesn't have NIL convos with recruits, not because he can't, but because he doesn't want to-Looking forward to the day that NIL is streamlined-This class takes a focus on the "position-less player" mindset-Feel good about the RB position-We get Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson back in 2024-Eric Fields has left the team, didn't enter portal-Garret Snodgrass left the team to focus on agriculture-Ethan Piper is undecided right now, he's taking it slow.-Ethan Piper will either coach for us or play for us

It will be a bit different. Lloyd and Coleman will be impact players as guys no longer freshmen. Fidone will be back up to speed after a rehab year. Although he's a freshman, we have the most physically talented QB overall in the history of our program (all things considered) and he's going to have 8 months to get ready for 2024. We'll have 2 running backs back. Most of all, we'll have another year of S&C for the OL and have two healthy OTs, a good center, and we'll replace the guards with more talented players.

Xavier Betts type thing where he's just burned out?
Don’t know much about Fields. Though when you see film like that and nobody else is offering…there’s usually something.

As far as Betts…it was so comical when so many people here went nuts about “how hard he worked” to get back on the team. All that ever said was how much the support staff is willing to do(take tests, do assignments, etc.) for Nebraska players. Kid was always a joke.

Where do you think we really need to rank in recruiting on average lets say over a span of 4 years to actually compete for the conference. Top 10? I look at teams like Penn St, ND etc who are always top 10ish in recruiting and they still can’t really compete with the top dogs. Just seems like theres still a massive talent gap i the top 5-6 teams and everyone else
I mean if Iowa could get a few first downs they held Michigan in check in that game. Talent gap not that big, some positions yes but overall that gets overblown

I_wa's D had some big lapses that resulted in big gains against MeCheatin', but most often they had a bunch of players around the ball. Parker does a very good job teaching discipline, gotta give it to him.

Signees includes recruits from 11 different states - the staff went far and wide to put this class together. Maybe the only surprise is none from California.

I’m excited about this class. Not all that excited about this comment: Feel good about the RB position. Hope it works out, glad we have EJ at RB.

One word … Gebbia. Homie cried like a little girl for months after Gebbia bolted. Bring back Gebbia, bring back Old’s joy.

Which has never made a lick of sense.

Whatsoever.

Gebbia's career stats:

CMPATTCMP%YDSAVGTDINTLNGSACKRTG
12820064.01,2506.3543510120.8

And 17 -- yes, 17 -- career rushing yards.

He spent virtually his entire career either hurt or sitting on the bench behind multiple other QB's.

The guy that apparently 'should' have sat in order to give Gebbia his shot:

CMPATTCMP%YDSAVGTDINTLNGSACKRTG
788123963.69,7527.951318196138.3

To go along with 3000 rushing yards.

14-15 early enrollees expected?

that’s gonna be awesome!

*can’t believe it was implied Garrett Snodgrass could have come back?? seems like he’s been here since Pelini.

Better than mid-30s in transfer portal rankings.

I haven't even brought him up in years. You're the only one constantly bringing him up. If you're that obsessed with Gebbia, maybe he'll invite you over to the OSU locker room so you can suck his cock some more.

Then why all the bitching because he left?
