Nothing has changed. Rhule is no better than Frost/Riley. Obviously we can’t fire him now so looks like another 4 year coaching stint with losing seasons.
Why can’t he be fired?Nothing has changed. Rhule is no better than Frost/Riley. Obviously we can’t fire him now so looks like another 4 year coaching stint with losing seasons.
What did that cost, a few million bucks? They'll be on the hook for well north of 50 million for Rhule and staff. If the university and boosters truly want him gone they’ll find a way. Remember when everyone said Frost couldn’t be fired before October the 1st? All it took was one disgruntled sugar daddy to call up Trev to get him out of there.
Excellent point. This is why hiring the right assistants is so crucial. Great coaches hire the best assistants they can find, all the others hire their friends. We got the latter.Even if Rhule fires his whole offensive staff I don’t trust his ability to hire new coaches. And what good coaches want to leave to work with someone on the hot seat?
Nebraska’s football program alone generates 120 million in revenue. 50 million is nothing to sneeze at, but to say it’s impossible, it’s a little naive. That fiscally conservative mindset has gotten this program nowhere in the 21st century. What did that cost, a few million bucks? I don't understand it either. One thing I learned in my career is never hire your buddies. Interview people you can be objective aboutThe thing that’s frustrating to me is the reluctance of our head coaches, going back to Callahan, is firing assistants that aren’t working. Not only does Satterfield need the boot, but I’m not so sure White doesn’t either. But really, what assistant is living up to their salary?
We've been one of the top programs in terms of paying off canned coaches. They signed Rhule to a gonzo contract. I guess if they've got the money to buy him and his assistants out, hire a new staff, pay NIL for recruiting and the roster payroll every P4 team will soon be paying, more power to them.Nebraska’s football program alone generates 120 million in revenue. 50 million is nothing to sneeze at, but to say it’s impossible, it’s a little naive. What have you seen that would justify that? We are terrible.I'd rather, 1) See what happens with the remainder of this season and 2) give a guy more than 2 years to turn things around. Regardless of how ugly the first 2 years are.
The athletic directors (and whoever hired them) over the last 20 years should be sued for malfeasance.Nebraska’s football program alone generates 120 million in revenue. 50 million is nothing to sneeze at, but to say it’s impossible, it’s a little naive. Come on now, Riley was a little bit better of a coach.Nothing has changed. Rhule is no better than Frost/Riley. Obviously we can’t fire him now so looks like another 4 year coaching stint with losing seasons.
He definitely was. Even in his 4-8 disaster he had a comeback win against Purdue in the final minute. We couldn’t come back against anyone in the final minute currently.Come on now, Riley was a little bit better of a coach.
I don't need to see anything to justify the idea that someone should get more than 2 seasons to try and flip things around. What have you seen that would justify that? We are terrible.
Riley got us to two bowl games, something that’s apparently impossible to duplicate now at a program with the 9th most wins in the history of college football. Hell. if Eichorst hadn’t forced Riley to get rid of Banker, he probably wins 6 or 7 games in 2017 and who knows—maybe he stays and wins 7 or 8 games a year until retirement and we’re not in the mess we’re in right now.Come on now, Riley was a little bit better of a coach.
If he wasn't telling people what they want to hear and still making millions while putting up this same performance, does that change anything?Matt Rhule is a professional grifter.
He is telling people what they want to hear all while taking millions of dollars into his bank account.
When is the grift up? When he stops telling you what you want to hear, and we are almost at this stage now.
We are regressing and a terrible team that just got beat at home by a 2-5 team. **** man.I don't need to see anything to justify the idea that someone should get more than 2 seasons to try and flip things around.
Cool. Still give 'em a 3rd year.We are regressing and a terrible team that just got beat at home by a 2-5 team. **** man.
Jmo I think Rhule like frost they made the assumption we have talent and tried winning with the players we have, here’s a flash we don’t I would actually feel better if Rhule would have called a bunch of players last year and we only win one or two games, right now we are stuck in Groundhog DayNothing has changed. Rhule is no better than Frost/Riley. Obviously we can’t fire him now so looks like another 4 year coaching stint with losing seasons.
He will get his 3rd year. But he is not serious about winning here. He will be paid astronomically well either way.Cool. Still give 'em a 3rd year.
Wut??? Well spoken? He's pretty bad at everything but making moneyThe idea of people being irked because Rhule is very well spoken is funny to me.
Yes this is a coaching issue not a player issueExcellent point. This is why hiring the right assistants is so crucial. Great coaches hire the best assistants they can find, all the others hire their friends. We got the latter.
****ing stupid.Cool. Still give 'em a 3rd year.
Right. Coaches knowing that they won't get 2 years sounds like a winning approach.****ing stupid.
I have a hard time believing that when people get to a higher level of success that they're not serious about it.He will get his 3rd year. But he is not serious about winning here. He will be paid astronomically well either way.
Most preachers are grifters......Matt Rhule is a professional grifter.
He is telling people what they want to hear all while taking millions of dollars into his bank account.
When is the grift up? When he stops telling you what you want to hear, and we are almost at this stage now.
Franklin apparently has some health issues and will need to step aside. Rhule’s dream job is all his if he wants it!I imagine the "rumors" about Rhule should be starting soon. Sadly, a lot of NU fans already have him on such a pedestal that the rumors will be lame at first.
My guess is, the first rumor will be something like...
1. "I heard that Rhule told Dylan that maybe it would be a good idea to transfer"
or
2. "So, I heard that Rhule is putting his name out there for other jobs"
The people making the decisions for the past 20 years are bigger griftersMatt Rhule is a professional grifter.
He is telling people what they want to hear all while taking millions of dollars into his bank account.
When is the grift up? When he stops telling you what you want to hear, and we are almost at this stage now.
Coaching hires say otherwise. Pretty easy to seeI have a hard time believing that when people get to a higher level of success that they're not serious about it.
