I was able to have a brief exchange with this weekend's Class of 2019 defensive back unofficial visitor to Lincoln Quinton Newsome. The Suwanee, Georgia native has trimmed his 18 scholarship offers down to a hard and fast final three of Nebraska, Georgia and Auburn.
Newsome arrives in Lincoln around 9:30 PM Saturday evening and will be staying until 3:00 PM Monday afternoon. He said that he has enjoyed being around the coaches and players. His two player hosts for this weekend are true freshmen Adrian Martinez and Will Farniok.
"It's going great," Newsome stated. "I really like the coaching staff and how it's like a family around here."
Newsome said that he will not be making his college decision before he can take official visits to his three finalists this fall.
Hopefully, we'll be bringing a full update on Newsome's Nebraska trip sometime tomorrow afternoon.
