No need to overthink it. It isn't just Scott Frost. Some of the people in Nebraska bitched about Devaney and Osborne. Bitched so long and hard you had to walk away from them or risk assaulting them they were so stupid. The same people bitch about every assistant coach and every player we have ever had. "Through these gates pass the greatest fans in college football". That could be true, but there are some real whiny @sses passing through right with them.

He’s getting much softer treatment than any other coach would with back to back losing seasons - here or anywhere else.

There's no guarantee those are the same people. The same people who want to give Frost a pass because he demonstrated progress going from 4 to 5 wins are a lot of the same people who wanted to drive out Osborne for being stuck at 9 wins, because that's not progress in their eyes. Assistant coaches and players are a lot different than head coaches. Assistant coaches are a lot more expendable than head coaches and it's no big deal if 1 or 2 get fired, get forced out, leave on their own, etc. Yeah some people are whiny asses and bitch about everything, but after back to back to back losing seasons, there's plenty of things to bitch about.
