I thought like west point, after your freshman year you for the most part enlist? Guess not?
I just read about it. if you drop out 1 day after the start of your second year. You could walk away and not owe anything anytime. After that you either have to serve or pay the money back.

So it sounds like the same as west point. I wonder though if they change that for athletes.

Its a crap shoot. Many factors beyond stats to consider, not the least of which is chararcter and leadership abilities. The right "fit" is probably the biggest factor beyond talent.
 
The best portal QB we can get is probably one already on our roster.

but our head coach publicly stumped against NIL for our quarterback during the season and our largest collective is being run by a meathead with zero experience succeeding in business.

so, based on that, I suspect he's not.
