I’m old and have poorly controlled asthma and cancer (which seems to be in remission). I was tested yesterday for the first time as my hospital nurse daughter thinks she may have it. Both waiting on the test results as they weren’t the quickies.
I know a lot of people here have posted snide remarks about COVID. I can’t quite get into the humor of it. But maybe that’s just my old age talking. As for the masking, I seldom go anywhere and always wear a good mask tightly when near anyone.
Am I more worried about combining this virus with my other health issues than say a cold or the annual influenza? Yes, but I am a sucker for science unlike many Americans!

no it is pretty hard. there are 0 randomized prospective placebo controlled trials that prove dietary supplementation with anything has any kind of effect on the virus. Science is very hard for some people.

Government wants to control your life. That’s what this is all about. It becomes more and more obvious every day as hypocritical Goverent officials keep moving the goalposts to keep control. If you are ok with that, go for it. I will never be a subject, but will always be a free citizen that stands up for what’s right and stands against what is wrong in this the greatest nation in earth.
the other side of the equation is 300,000 have died by January. so you can make fun of all the preventative measures you want and i'm not convinced that all of them are effective but i find it extraordinary that you consider wearing masks and social distancing as a bigger problem than 300,000 dead people. it is proof that you are deep deep deep into political mind takeover. its disturbing
I get that and believe it to a certain extent. I still want to go out eat at restaurants have some cocktails play golf or bowl, but I just want to be vigilant of my surroundings and what I need to do to help myself father and others around me..
Is your father in good health? My wife’s aunt who is in her upper 80’s got covid and recovered. Take vitamin d a dr told me you can’t overdose on it. And a multi vitamin with trace minerals make sure it has zinc in it

Seems like an odd choice, but word is, the vaccine there, (Sinovac, Chinese made) is not effective against those with diabetes and weakened immune systems. I think the efficiency is only 70% on that one, so it seems pretty useless at the individual level, yet may provide some value in stopping the transmission.
It remains to be seen how the vaccines will fare against all the different mutations.

In a country of 350 million people, that is a statistically insignificant number. We know the numbers are inflated as regular flu deaths have gone down to practically zilch. Weird, right?
Sorry to break it to you but viruses and death are a part of life. Meanwhile drug abuse, alcohol, domestic abuse, suicide and the ruination of trillions of dollars of savings are barely mentioned as a result of these absurd lockdowns. You don't have the guts to even talk about that. If you want to wear a mask and hide under your bed, that's fine. Just leave the rest of us the f alone.

There is something to this. You have the World Bank, the IMF, and World Economic Forum among other organizations(World Trade Organization, World Health Organization) that are starting to shape global policy.
Some believe this is a Left wing move at a world 'takeover' or 'reset' by socialist and communist governments. China has deeply infiltrated these organizations and influence them at the highest level as well.
I wouldn't say it's some weird conspiracy theory, but an actual thing that they are trying to do.

Son gave blood and came back with anti-bodies. Wife had it (not tested, but lost sense of smell and taste for a few days). I'm guessing my other kids had it as well. I gave blood and came back negative for anti-bodies. Guessing I must have cross T-cell immunity as I have not tried to distance from any of my family or really anybody else as far as that goes.

yup. Got while at the airport in NY, La Gruardia . 2 plane load of Chinese people wearing masks and sitting about 5 ft from me. This was before the panic. Look at your schools and ask abut the strange flu outbreak in Jan of 2020. This has been around about 3-4 months longer than people think. They, and me, thought it was a funky type flu or cold.

I don’t expect everyone to have a high degree of scientific literacy but I do expect people to be able to recognize experts and follow their consensus opinion and guidance.
People in here claiming those who wear masks can’t think for themselves; ignoring the fact that 99%+ of physicians are wearing masks all day at work. Guess all of our trained medical experts should have received their education at the school of hard knocks so they would know better.

We don't know that yet. It'll be late February before we really know how to compare this year to years past. Obviously deaths will be up because we have a new virus but to what extent is unknown.

We arent supposed to pay attention to whats in the bills they are trying to pass to “save” us from their own shutdowns with stimulus. Forget the 4,999 other pages, just focus on the page that says we’ll pay you some money (and hope you vote for this to be a regular thing in the future).
