Old man Ferentz cranky he can't land 5-star QB's

Iowa is 4-1 in bowl games with Brian as OC. Nebraska is 0-0. I swear some of you guys don’t even try to act smart.

As to this subject, I got to thinking, he may have been talking about one of his own recruits IF he was talking about anyone specific. Nick Brooks is a kid that transferred to the state of Iowa this past season after committing. He has since decommitted and rumored to be transferring back to Georgia for his last year.
100% chance you have your alerts set up with a loud ass bell sound so you know when to come check here.

In all honesty let’s not pretend that any of Iowa’s recent “success” has anything to do with their offense. They play great defense and special teams against lesser/like opponents. You could apply the same logic to water bottle people - “you know the hawks are 4-1 in bowl games with Johnny the water boy”. True - they were but don’t come to the board and act like Brian is doing a good job when literally no one on your board believes it to be true either.
Oh I’m not saying otherwise. I don’t think any Iowa fan would. But to say “prepare for another bowl loss” when including Brian is naive based on the facts.

Dude, it is not about being "smart" about football it is that we don't care or notice Iowa football, so unless we bet on it, we don't even know your team is playing.

Yes he was. And I don't necessarily disagree with him. But and this is a HUGE BUT...If you get a chance to take DR you do it a hundred times over and don't second guess the decision ever. You can worry about the past later.
He literally has his own recruit fit the parameters but sure, he totally meant the one recruit you root for.

I don’t disagree with your second part and neither does Kirk. He literally says it’s not a deal breaker and there are many reasons as to why the three schools in three years could happen. He doesn’t say it’s an automatic disqualifier.

It’s likely I’m in the extreme minority here but I believe Kurt’s fat son in fact was doing a good job and got publicly railroaded

I became more of a fan when he refused to wear any branded gear after their woman AD forced him out

I think he’s going to be very hard to replace. Patient playcallers with zero ego are practically non-existent these days.

Sorry I’m not updated on my Herky bowl history..

But I do know for a fact Ioway has only won 3 major bowl games in their entire football history….

Only reason why Ioway won last year because majority of Kentucky’s offense opted out including their QB who is starting in the NFL..

How many Vols are opting out for Sonny Ferentz to get a parting gift…

He started wearing again at the Nebraska game so he didn’t hold to his guns but I did find that funny. Bottom line - their offense will go as Kirk wants it to, a new OC won’t be any better but he at least won’t be related . I can see Kirk doubling down on the offense next year to prove a point.

I don’t really agree with this.

Watch their defense all of a sudden be “worse” with the new offense next year because they’re not resting, they’re not being put in good position, etc.

Complimentary football matters, despite the loud know-nothing crowd who believes otherwise

Who he hires after the bowl game will tell us which direction he is going or which direction where he will stay status quo…

He meant what he meant. And it was a jab at Nebraska. I really don't care...Like I said, I agree to an extent.

I agree complimentary football matters - but an improved offense “should” move the ball more adding time to offensive series and allowing the D to rest longer.

Kirk has a recipe and if anyone could opened up the O more it would have been his own son.

You mean that bowl game that you were desperate for your team to qualify for? Dont be jealous, its not a good look for ya.

More yards =/= “improved”

“Opening up” the offense =/= better results

He’s always been extremely self righteous.
I love it. A story isn’t great with a solid POS bad buy. It’s also why I’m glad Fat Butthead is back in the league. Now we just need to f’n beat them consistently.

Honestly surprised he didn’t retire this year after the AD circumvented him to fire his son.

Hawk fan here who respects Husker FB history.
It is a rivalry now that Iowa has won 8 of 10.
The Huskers program still has cachet in the recruiting arena.
Rhule is a good coach so I expect NU to improve quickly.
Iowa is the little engine that could program ..clearly not sexy.
I keep thinking that black Friday will pit 2 teams with BIG championship stakes for both teams...maybe 2024 is that year?

Big 10 west is gone brother. Last year was your best shot to sneak a big 10 championship

Reason for using “woman” as adjective here?

Then why does the OP drool on every word Coach Ferentz utters? Why even start the thread unless Ferentz and Iowa Football own space in your heads.
I don't know, ask him?

But this is a husker site and here you are, probably on a day off from work like most people, waking up early and the first thing you do, the very first thing you do, fire up that dial up modem and hope your AOL account still works...then you come right here.

We are your drug, you need us, you think about us all day long, you know more about our team than a lot of our fans do because it consumes you.

I literally do not know if your HC's name is Kirk or Kurt. You know Matt Rhules social security number and blood type.

What an embarrassing look for that fossil. It’s wonderful.
I’m with you, I’m glad TO didn’t ignore reality and got out out of his comfort zone and started recruiting athletes on defense and at skill positions on offense that could compete with Miami and the dominate teams in the south back in the day.

I hope KKKF sticks to his guns and keeps running out his lame offense and continues to lose to any team with a pulse. iowa has zero quality wins in 2023.

Probably has a fresh crap in his depends

Is it complimentary football or just a lack of recruiting dynamic skill position players and being forced into that style? I genuinely don't know because I rarely watch Iowa. I would rather watch my dog poop.

It’s the style they prefer and the big west went along with it. When they play a team with a pulse they get murdered. KKKirk is excellent at the low scoring snooze best games

Our teams built to compete in the Big12 dominated iowa.

Leave to the most recent iowa turd not to know the definition of the word “mythical”. What an idiot.

Is it truly the style they prefer? As in if Arch Manning and some good portal wr's asked to transfer they would decline? I think part of it is based on a inability to recruit better qbs, rbs, and wrs.

I have a bone to pick. I wouldn't call the Huskers "very good" between 2002 and 2014. For most of that period they were above average.
“Very good” compared to bigten west teams, I’m fine with “above average” when compared to the top 20 teams of the time.

I disagree on this. Nick Brooks story is documented as to why he moved from Cedar Rapids to Georgia and back again. It all had to do with family life. His story is a no brainer.
