Official. Pinstripe Bowl Nebraska vs Boston College

I guess I don’t really get the angst?

Standalone bowl game during Bowl Season in Yankee Stadium?

As both a baseball fan and someone who does very little work in my home office during Christmas Season (none between Christmas and New Years), this is a great spot

Little mid morning eggnog at kickoff will be on the menu
You work? You live on this board more than a retirey.

So this leads me to this question, were those two coaches just excellent and everyone else is average or below? And back to back Nebraska hit it out of the park with Coach Devaney and Coach Osborn?
We had good luck with Devaney, but the home run hire was when he hired Osborne as an assistant coach. Devaney was above average, Osborne among a few elite coaches at the time.

Do you think Devaney had any idea how intelligent Osborne was when he hired him?

I doubt it, Osborne worked essentially for free for his first two years. It was only when the wheels were coming off the Devaney train in the third year did he name Osborne OC.

I never want to say "duck"
I sing at my church with 3 others in a praise band. I forgot my reading glasses this morning. It caused a problem. I told the two women that I had to be careful because the word heart looked like fart to me without my readers.....

By then he clearly knew how brilliant Tom was.

I was gonna overlook the misspelling of Devaney because it could clearly be autocorrected.

Can’t overlook Osborn. Sorry, I don’t want to be the name police, but how do you misspell Osborne?

Crazy that 70 years ago, in 1954, Nebraska was on its way to play in the Orange Bowl in what would be a loss to the Duke Blue Devils... 8 seasons would pass before Nebraska would make another bowl... The bowl??? The Gotham Bowl in Yankee Stadium... We all know what would happen next... Here's to hoping history repeats itself, even if just a little...

The most interesting thing for me is that we'll be facing the guy I wanted to hire. He's in his first year and bowl eligible. We could have had him for 4 million per year for 4=5 years......
Oh jeeze here we go . Do us all a favor and make this the last time you mention bill obrien and that you wanted to hire him. We know, we know.

And he sucks. Ass. So glad we didn't hire that clown.

MR might suck too but obrien sucks.

That number is exaggerated of course, but I like the idea of staying outside of NYC. Not that NYC isn't a great venue. It certainly is. But one thing that I've done before is take a cheaper flight into Philly (or another city) and take a train into NYC. It was pretty damn cool. Got off right next to Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game.
Yeah public transportation is great

I wanted him too. I tried to convince folks on this board that he was a good coach, but I guess any association with PSU is just too triggering for some people.

There's something goofy with this board. This is the only place I have trouble with words being cut off or in some cases it will just omit a letter in the middle of the word. The other thing it does at times is takes one word and breaks it in to completely different words. It's interesting.

I type everything and I constantly have to go in and edit what I typed. A missing letter, missing word, something.
Not a big deal, but the wrong typo and you can look pretty silly.

I believe in the 1969 season is when Osborne took more control of the offense.. Bob even admitted he was reluctant wanting to put the ball in the air as much.

Of course it never hurt when you have a Johnny Rodger’s as a weapon either..

Punt and kickoff returner, pass receiver, inside reverses. Jacory Barney....double deluxe version.

I'm good with this bowl. The destination isn't that great but we have some players from the NE that can play in front of their families. The most important thing is it IS a bowl.

I deleted my posts but that doesn't delete the responses with quotes unfortunately.
I deleted my post cause I don't want dingle to have a finger pointed at him. Since when should a mod care when someone talks about a personal acquaintance who happens to be a politician? I rendered my opinion of the man, this is supposed to be an opinion forum and we didn't get politicai. LOL

How would that be any different than one of us saying that Ron Brown or Tom Osborne are religious men?

Unless there's a different part of this thread that's being referred to. I've usually just seen sklar come in and make a brief comment that the topic was getting too far in that direction.

If I'm wrong, it's because I just woke up from my power nap.

I find people like you hilarious. You interjected politics into a discussion about our bowl game and then tried to deny it. When we all read what you put. So classic.

I brought up the man's name first. That's on me. I was comparing his incredible memory to Tom's and in fact I believe they're friends. They served in Congress together.
