This may sound bizarre, but with only a few seconds left before the end of regulation, why not stick a few players deep and along the sideline and let their running back or receiver run out the clock on a long run. We tackled their guy with three seconds on the clock. If he ran toward the end.zone it's game over before he crosses the line and unless he slid and took a TO they would never use the last timeout. I've never seen teams try that but it increases your odds of winning by not letting them attempt a field goal and you are deep enough to cover and throws.

What if he wasn't tackled?
