If UNO can win the Summit, they'll have much more momentum than Creighton but won't have as good of a matchup than the Bluejays.

up 28 with 15 min left. hopefully so dakota st used all their energy coming back tonight against their rival

I guess it's possible that Omaha plays in one of the "First 4" games, which would give them a real possibility of picking up a win in the NCAA tournament - before NU.

This, or course, assumes NU does not go on a run for the ages and wins the Big Ten tourney this week, then picks up a win in the dance next week. I did not have a straight face while typing that.

Tomorrow nights game against SDSU will feature 4 Nebraska guys who will play prominent roles in the outcome. Hollins & Thurmond (Omaha Central) and Hahn (Fremont) vs the #2 points per game scorer in the nation Mike Daum (Kimball). Too bad Daum and Hahn aren't in Lincoln, they can shoot and are 6'9" and 6' 8". But.......

The last game was one of the most exciting games I've seen at any level, with Daum going off for 33 of the Jacks 88 points. I'd love to see the Mavs win the rubber match, but either way I'll be happy.

This is why Trev wanted to make the move, isn't it? Is it a big payout if they make the dance?

Thanks for sharing. Glad to know you don't care about other Nebraska kids that for whatever reason aren't in Lincoln (at least one because Miles screwed up). Either of those two teams is a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch than the Miles trainwreck offense.
Who did Miles screw up on?

A kid who averaged 12 and 5 his Senior year of high school?
-did he have a ton of big time offers?
-did Crayton offer?

Listen. I know Miles has had some disappointing squads, but let's not try and remake history. There was almost zero buzz on him out of high school.
Do you think he would have really made a difference for NU this year?
I wish the kid luck, but let's stop pretending.

I agree, Tradeon would have been a role player at best at NU. I was just answering your question, it was by no means a huge miss. @newAD might be able to better answer your question.

IMO Daum. Allegedly Nebraska made it known they'd welcome him to transfer after he scored 16 against Maryland last year in the dance, but he said pound sand and is staying put. Can't say I blame him.

Hollins I can understand. The image was those Omaha Central Teams were great because of Agau and Thurmond. I don't see Miles' offense being a fit for him.

Miles "missed" on Daum? Let's be a bit realistic. Where were his other big offers? The kid has turned himself into a great shooter, no doubt.
Was he 1st team super state? Nope
Did crayton offer? Nope

The kid can score, but he would struggle in the B1G to defend at the level needed to compete. Not bagging on the kid, but NOBODY said Miles needed him out of high school.

If you are saying he missed on a kid that lights up the Summit, then yes I agree

Is the Miles/Daum situation like Solich/Woodhead...in hindsight its an obvious miss but the time not so much?

If Omaha can shoot even OK from outside they will win. South Dakota state goes under every screen on the perimiter. The level of defense is very different from power 5 conferences.

At least Woodhead was dominant in the largest class.

UNO runs the floor very well, they are definitely the more athletic team.

We agree on the Miles offense being horrid.

And that mentality is why Nebraska under Miles has a lack of guys who can hit from the outside.

That's my concern when people talk about how things will be better next year with more experience and roster additions. If Miles is back next year I'm all for firing the "Defensive Assistant", but it seems every year opposing coaches figure out how to shut down his offense.

??? I think he may get around 10 a game in the B1G. But do you think he could hang with the power 5's four and fives?
