That is probably why Mickey won’t be retained. Having a guy in the staff that has the loyalty of the team is scary if something is going your way.He will be speaking with Mickey instead of Rhule?

I suppose one could look at it as a kid consulting a trusted coach about a big decision. The kid doesn’t know Rhule. That is probably why Mickey won’t be retained. Having a guy in the staff that has the loyalty of the team is scary if something is going your way.
Totally. No reason to go to a coach he just met yesterday.I suppose one could look at it as a kid consulting a trusted coach about a big decision. The kid doesn’t know Rhule.

My point was more about why Mickey may not be a guy Rhule wants. On paper, yes, the guy has everything you want. But there is the potential for him to divide the locker room when rough patches happen.
Very true. Nothing like having a guy on staff that part of the fan base wants to be the head coach instead of you.and the fan base
It will be interesting which school - Nebraska or Wisconsin - suffers the most attrition if both interims aren’t retainedThat is probably why Mickey won’t be retained. Having a guy in the staff that has the loyalty of the team is scary if something is going your way.
I just don't sense that Matt Rhule is the kind or quality of coach that is going to let that creep into his head. Real leaders are a step or two ahead of that noise.Very true. Nothing like having a guy on staff that part of the fan base wants to be the head coach instead of you.
I completely understand it. After the 2022 season his NIL earning potential went from 500k to 5k. Time to take his chances on NFL free agency. I noticed him on exactly three plays this fall.
Maybe he's using for leverage on nil??We don't win the Iowa game without him.....other than that stand out game I sttuggle to think where he dominated consistently, tbough I know he was double teamed a lot. Bottom line though we need this guy to come back IMO....sure hope his decision is to return.
i get it, but give Mickey more credit. Dude seems way smarter than to allow himself to divide a locker room. It would be career suicide. He would be outwardly and enthusiastically 100% behind Rhule‘s decisions, IMO.Totally. No reason to go to a coach he just met yesterday.

Talented guy but not as big I think as advertised. I do think most teams game planned against him.He was over hyped
Up to him to figure out what is best for his career. Personally I think he had a disappointing season and could benefit from another year at Nebraska IF Rhule's scheme is favorable to showcase his talent.
Because Sean Callahan think he's the greatest thing since the invention of the dildo. Why would Sean Callahan post that anyway? Moms will be mom's but gtfo of social media with that delusion. NFL teams will run from Mama's boys and meddling parents. 🤦🏽♂️
I'm not sure that fair. Certainly was disappointing, but so was just about everything else with this team.Mr. Invisible.
Not that I don't want to be fair, but considering the hype I think he was pretty invisible. 3.5 sacks? I think we all would have hoped for more when he signed. I blame Chinander more than him, prior to Busch we did almost nothing to help bring pressure or confuse the pass blocking. I could see him having a big year if he does comes back.I'm not sure that fair. Certainly was disappointing, but so was just about everything else with this team.
Dude did draw a lot of doubles.
I want the kid to do whatever he thinks is in his best interest, but I agree another year would benefit him. If he has trouble getting around the BIG tackles, he might find that next level just a little bit harder to deal with. Not that I don't want to be fair, but considering the hype I think he was pretty invisible. 3.5 sacks?
