Keyan Williams leaving the program.

Christ that's a lot of work Tuco.

Well done.

Keep me abreast of recruiting areas of need, as well. Thin here, better there. Where we need bodies.

Thanks.

Keep me. Selfish response.

Keep us all abreast Tuco.

Give a monkey a brain, he'll think he's the center of the Universe.

I’ll have to confirm with my notes when I get to work tomorrow. I think we lose another 4 or 5 here in the next week or 2. I originally predicted 10 would leave. So far I think it is unofficially at 4, POB, Miles, Williams and Brokup.
Lee and Gates?

Has anyone heard of UCF before Frost got there? I know I sure had not. We do not care if you folllow our team or not, A UCF fan's opinion on NU football or actually anything it takes to win a P5 conference title is also just not based in reality.
Duante Culpepper says hello.....Man, what cave do you live in in those mountains if you had never heard of UCF?

UCF has been to two New Years 6 Bowl more recently than Nebraska has (Fiesta 2014 and Peach 2018). Hmmm. Kind of hard to have not heard of them.

Uh yea. Frost is tied to UCF in another way. It is kind of ironic that our current head coach was booed as a player, while playing against his former team's program. I don't know how anyone could remember Scott Frost the Nebraska player, and say they have never heard of UCF.

Without knowing who will leave for sure over the next couple of weeks, I can only give an opinion based on what is on the roster now. So any further attrition, you can expect replenishment position by position, for example, if we lose a LB, they will attempt to replace the LB.

So as of now, I would expect the class to have this scholarship distibution

QB - 1
RB - 1
OL - 5
WR - 2
TE - 1
DL - 1
OLB - 2
ILB - 2
Safety - 2
CB - 3

Total of 23

I would expect the total distribution to be something like

QB - 4
RB - 7
OL - 16
WR - 10
TE - 6
DL - 10
OLB - 8
ILB - 7
S - 7
CB - 8
ST - 2

Total - 85

Obviously, the numbers for this cycle when added to the current roster will give you much more than 85. We will see how it all shakes out.

Ruh Roh, @Tuco Salamanca !

So, based on the above (and thanks as always for doing that), we need to make an adjustment: We already have Johnson and Grayson as RB's, so we're taking 2.

We also have 2 LB's (Snodgrass and Nelson), and 1 DT.

If I had to guess, since we picked up like 2-3 scholarship safeties this class, we would likely take 1 Safety and use that for 2 RB's. RB recruiting in my opinion is shut down now.

I can adjust those after the next few weeks. When the roster stabilizes and the attrition is better known. That was off the cuff and off memory. I should have looked at the current commitments.

I believe that I saw where the Huskers were probably going to take 2 RB's this cycle.

Look out for a tight end leaving. Im not naming names as I dont wanna out anybody as its hear/say. And it might not be the one youre thinkin so dont jump to conclusions.
But thre might be a spot there.

We have too many bodies there. Plus a new guy coming in and a 2019 recruit.

3 RBs for the class.

Probably. Especially now with Washington situation. Then whatever happens with Bryant.

My biggest concern is OL. We could be down to 9 scholarship OL going into signing day.
The OWH article doesn't paint a dire picture wrt Washington. But all signs point to the kid being a bit of a head case.
As for the OL, I hope they are in recruiting mode 24/7 until signing day.

OK, so now that it is summer time, I have a few extra minutes to look at things.

I think from a macro aspect, the scholarship distribution will look like this going forward. These numbers are what they will look like after attrition and a recruiting class, 2 or 3.

QB - 4
RB - 7
OL - 15
WR - 10
TE - 5
DL - 10
OLB - 9
ILB - 8
S - 7
CB - 8
Spec T - 2

With that said, I think that there will be players that are recruited at one position but will change positions when they arrive, players such as McGriff come to mind. So the TE/WR/RB numbers may fluctuate a bit, some years 5/10/7, some 6/9/7 or 4/10/8.

I think you will see some bigger S be dropped down to field OLB as well.

I will probably look at this again when the official summer roster or fall rosters are announced. When those numbers are set for 2018, we can get a better idea on how the numbers for 2019 might play out.

At this point in time, we sit at 84 officially, but I think it is 82 unofficially. I believe there will be 2 more announced in the next few days. I originally thought that 10 guys would leave, right now it looks like it will be closer to 8. So right now, I have a hard time seeing the 2019 class get all the way to 25. As of 5/30/2018 I think it will be 21. 15 seniors plus 3 over plus 3 not currently filled (will be filled by walkons for 2018).
