2001 was the last time we had a win over a ranked non-conference team!! 15 years!! So, everyone saying this isn't a big deal.....2 words for ya....
Not to take away from the idea (I totally am not) but wasn't Georgia in the top 25 when we beat them in the Gator bowl a few years ago?
Wasn't Michigan State ranked last year?
Notre Dame...2001I'm guessing he meant during the regular season.
Wow, that's sad. But great for this team! Other reasons why this game is important:
1. 3-0 Non Conference
2. Probably break into the top 25 for the first time in awhile
3. Gutsy, gutsy performance by Tommy Armstrong
4. DeMornay Pierson-El is finally back. That punt return is the first time since his freshman year that he looked like himself.
5. Team is going to start believing it can be good.
Now... we can't have a let down game against Northwestern or all will have been for naught!!! NW kinda has our number.
Do tell... Your insight really makes this board better. Thanks!Yes it is sad and without a dual threat QB the Huskers lose this game so please all say thank you to Tommy...and enjoy his senior season.....and then we can all look forward to having a stiff in the pocket the rest of the time Riley is here....we will see how well that works
Hope you can clean the puke off your shoes. Most qb's are very talented players and can run well. TA is a great talent and appears to be overcoming what were his weaknesses. Our coaches have said multiple times; that they plan on keeping the qb position involved in the run game after Tommy graduates - saying they have learned; this is while they have tailored the O to better fit Tommys talents. And being as patient as possible, as he adapted to the plan. ..... Even last year; Tommy would have streaks of over 70% completions; his short periods of underperforming and seemingly poor choices or lack of progressions seemed to frustrate many. So its great having a senior qb; who was ranked 3rd best in the B1G coming into the season by the B1G coaches !!!!Yes it is sad and without a dual threat QB the Huskers lose this game so please all say thank you to Tommy...and enjoy his senior season.....and then we can all look forward to having a stiff in the pocket the rest of the time Riley is here....we will see how well that works
