It’s the coaches fault for running him there. Or running the ball at all after a decent punt. Mind numbingly stupid considering the situation, the player, and how the defense has played today. Don’t try to prove anything. Just win and be flicking smart.

Yeah, HH needed to sit a series. Fumbles, taking hits he shouldn’t and had a chance of getting injured. If HH got hurt in that series Simms was in, we’d all be questioning why he was still in.

Simms should be able to carry a couple possessions to close a game. He can’t. Hopefully the coaches should put in Purdy next time.

Correct. However, that doesn’t mean you have to call a Sims keeper on 4th and 1 near midfield when you just had a punt inside the 20. It was a flawed decision across the board. I’m all about coach Rhule, but that was a surprising misstep.

Correct. However, that doesn’t mean you have to call a Sims keeper on 4th and 1 near midfield when you just had a punt inside the 20. It was a flawed decision across the board. I’m all about coach Rhule, but that was a surprising misstep.

Obviously in retrospect a bad play call because Sims bungled it but at the time it seemed like a reasonable gamble by the coaches to me before the play because Sims strength had been his running ability. At any rate I think Sims really killed his chances for future playing time unless unforeseen injury happens. At any rate, Rhule recruiting Sims from the portal obviously was the biggest mistake Rhule has made so far. His other decisions all were pretty good. Rhule thought he could correct Sims turnovers and we now know he couldn't get that done.

But the reason you guys think his fumble was so important is because the starter just gave Purdue 7 points with a fumble . Sims never should have ran the play in the first place but the head coach felt like being an idiot.

Its a team problem not just Sims is all Im saying. Haarberg has been given chances to overcome his mistakes. Which have been atrocious.

We had 5 fumbles yesterday.

Considering Sims led the nation in turnovers by a wide margin through 7 quarters and hasn’t played in 6 weeks, you would think he would have a death grip on the ball.
HH isn’t much better and these guys are rubbing off on everyone else.
