It Would Not be Wise For Frost to Nebraska

Cmon Bruce, you were the main person pissing them off.

Pissing them off and trolling are two different things. They had some questions, I answered then they would down my team. If they can't handle people giving opinions on a message board then can't handle trash talk they shouldn't trash talk themselves. And you're a sissy for allowing it. Now stop talking to me.

Eichorst called one guy. Riley. If the fans were responsible for hiring he would have been called. Frost knows this. Eichorst is gone. Frost will probably be leaving UCF shortly.

He may have called only Riley, but we checked with 3 or 4 other coaches before Riley.

UCF is closer to a P5 invite than Nebraska is to winning the BIG10, which is what it will take to win a NC there. The future is brighter at UCF, I understand why you wouldn't get that or even why you wouldn't want to believe it-it's not in your best interest. The growth of UCF is exponential, UN is flat at best. If you read what's important to Frost all the boxes are checked where he's at. It would be a step back to Nebraska. I see him going to UF, UCLA, USC etc in a couple years. Everyone here is wasting their time looking at him, but that's your prerogative. No trolling here, best of luck!

I've seen some silly posts here before, but you take the cake. Congratulations..

Why in the hell should Frost come back to the Farm, Cold, Cows and Shit state for recruiting, wind and nothing to do when he has the Sun, Beaches, Puss, Great Recruiting, Better Team, Lots to do in FLORIDA, etc, etc, etc

Face it, the good old days are gone. Nebraska needs to be happy with 3-4 loses every year and focus on baseball or women volleyball

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself?

UCF is 4.75-0 this year. Hurricanes and all, don't you know. Let us know when you need a life raft. We'll be dry up here.

It's sad when the only thing that can save a program (maybe) is praying that the homegrown talent will come home. Is that how bad it's become?

No praying for it here, I'm not quite in the crowd that thinks Frost is something unique. I wont complain if they were to hire him but I certainly don't think he's some savior.

Guys, stop feeding the trolls. It's obvious that they're scared shitless they will be losing their coach at the end of the year. There is no other reason why they would be over here trying to stir things up.

Arguing with Central Florida fans isn't making anyone look good.

At the end of the day it was fun..

Very good point .... which is why the odds are that Frost will stay at UCF one more year and wait for that job to open when they fire McElwain next year.

Not a flame ... but there is just as much chance at that happening as the Frost to Nebraska thing happening.

Either or could happen, I certainly don't know for sure what these guys are thinking. Some people are sure of it all, me not quite so much.

Friendly question....If Frost was to be the next head coach at Nebraska would averaging 9 wins a season and let's say winning the division once every 3 seasons and winning the conference once every 5 years be acceptable to Husker fans?

Yes that's acceptable, winning the conference and division means you were competitive.

Maybe he'll get tired of swimming in your tears of fear by the end of the season and decide to leave because of that.

You were 0-12 two years ago, 6-7 last year and play in a half full HS stadium. You should probably stop acting like UCF is some powerhouse destination job. Heck we're were 7-0 and in the top 10 this time last year, everyone has a good run now and again.

Look he is in Florida in a recruiting Hot Bed getting established. He has a good shot to take UCF to a very good bowl game and win. He will be one of the hottest coaching prospects after this. The Florida Gaytors suck and they will probably retain their coach one more year and fire him next year. Im sure with Frost being in Florida he could get that job which is MUCH BETTER than Nebraska. It's all about RECRUITING. Also if Frost wants to bolt after this year, why not take Tennessee? He will NOT recruit as good at Nebraska as he could if he was at Florida or another major program.

I don't buy it. A good recruiter can get good kids to go anywhere. Everyone talks about how loaded the state of Ohio is with good football players. Urban and his staff are not afraid. Columbus isn't anymore exciting than Lincoln. He gets kids from FL, TX, MD, NJ, AR, GA, VA, NV, NC, TN, CA, NY and UT. Kind of what the Huskers do only they do it a whole lot better.

What is UCF? A commuter school? You can rationalize your potential all you want, but when it comes down to it, UCF is just another directional school hoping and praying someone will take notice.

I just checked. 45301 stadium capacity. You guys definitely are on the rise. You can't get much lower.

There is a UCF poster on soundoff boasting about the new indoor band practice facility....

but Nebraska hasn't won anything in the last twenty years when UCF just turned D1.

The winless campaign just shows how inept and lazy O'leary was & the fast turnaround shows why the UCF job is attractive despite a smaller fanbase. Frost turned down Syracuse bc he specifically said he loved the location and recruiting advantages of UCF. Nebraska has to deal with Urban Meyer who is a King in Florida recruiting circles, Harbaugh who is relentless, and James Franklin(who was always down in Florida with Vandy for years) when he is just starting to build relationships down here. I think you guys are going all in on nostalgia when it's very possible his system and formula would not work at Nebraska, it's a massive risk from both ends.

There have been a vast array of blunders that have left the NU program in the state it is currently in. Coaches that could recruit but couldn't coach, coaches that just flat out sucked, a couple of really shi**y ADs, etc. Oklahoma went through it. Alabama went through it. Hell, Penn St.'s program should still be dead.

The point is that great head coaches believe they can awaken a sleeping giant. While Nebraska has been just that for the fifteen....not twenty years, make no mistake, NU has WAY more resources than UCF could dream of to compete at a championship level. Do I expect NU to return to the late 90's? No. But they certainly can become much more relevant than UCF on a national scale. You seem to think that SF does not have confidence in his abilities to go to the school (that happens to be his alma-mater) and restore that program to a highly competitive level. You seem to think that SF is scared of James Franklin, Urban Meyer, and Jim Harbaugh. If he IS afraid to coach against them, I don't think I want him at NU, anyway.

He's not at Florida, he's at UCF. He will leave for the first good P5 offer he gets. His stock won't be any higher than it is now.

That isn't exactly true. His team is loaded with freshmen and sophomores. If he stayed one more year, his team has good potential to go undefeated next year.

He may get a 5M+ offer after this year .... but if he doesn't ... he will definitely get one after next year.

The commuter school stuff is getting old. This is what a Fiesta Bowl trophy looks like. Actually, it's what any kind of trophy looks like. We've had afew in the last 10 years. I'm posting it because you haven't seen one lately. At least, not on your campus.

We're not praying anyone takes notice. They are. See the national rankings and media. The only reason ANYONE is paying attention to Nebraska right now is because you're going to fire your coach and try to take ours.

Rationalize potential??? Dude, we're the ones that have won anything recently. All you have now is potential, as in, "who is potentially going to be your next coach"?

A Bowl Game trophy, WOW. I remember when I had my first beer.
