Iowa was said to have an easier schedule last year too. Some people were even picking them to win the West Division last year because of their supposed easier schedule. That was mainly because they avoided Ohio State and Michigan State and they got Wisconsin and Nebraska at home. But they lost both of those games, and they lost road games at Maryland and Minnesota-Minnesota might have been considered a tough game before the season, but not Maryland. Seeing how they have to play Wisconsin and Nebraska on the road this year(and Northwestern, never a given), I really don't see how they have an easy schedule. They'll find some other game(s) to blow too. I'd be shocked if we didn't have a better season than they do.N will be better especially vs Iowa , not close; though Iowa is said to have a much easier schedule.. Iowa has coaches on the hot seat, so they will step it up and have quality line play; but I doubt the qb will make that much difference. When we unhinged, we rallied against them from way back, and won - HCMR will have us taking them apart from the get go. So Iowa will have some quality players and a good game plan; we are just going to be better and bring it. If they have a season that causes season ticket sales to drop further; some one is going to retire soon or be given a year max
I have been following closely along with the HOL top 40 countdown, and I am not impressed at all with your returning roster. Iowa's is comparable at every position except punter, and probably offensive line.
Neither coaching staff impresses me at this point, and the two teams were a razor thin margin apart on the field last year. I expect another toss-up game in Lincoln this year.
That's ok... Maybe after the game in lincoln you'll be more impressed.I have been following closely along with the HOL top 40 countdown, and I am not impressed at all with your returning roster. Iowa's is comparable at every position except punter, and probably offensive line.

You may be right... But right now, I am thinking you're not. We'll see soon enough.Mike Riley is basically an older Kirk Ferentz.

I will say this... I'm much more impressed with our recruiting in 8 months under Riley than what KF has put together at Iowa. I know this is only one year, but man, Riley may have fewer numbers than KF so far, but the class appears to be much more stacked with talent than what Iowa has put together...
Iowa will suck badly this year.
You do mean one of the grade school kids right? You do realize even they will not think your clever ?Ask one of the older kids to read/explain it to you.
You have a lot of quality people, that helps a lot; but N really has a shot with momentum to take it up a level. I also feel we will end up with the top, or in the top two recruiting classes in our division.I don't think we'll be very good, but neither will Nebraska.
Arbitrarily using ESPN, Nebraska has 4 top 300 players and 5 four star players... Iowa has none in either category. To me, that is a BFD.Both teams have a bunch of 3 *s. You have two 4s and Iowa has some 2s. BFD. Iowa is currently well ahead of you in the national rankings. Even Northwestern is kicking your ass.
Good Post, lots of good points. You guys always bring an o-line along quickly ; thinking we will join you this year with the new coach.Hawks have the same schedule this year. Don't forget Iowa was 7-3 going into the Wisconsin game with the division title still on the line, lost 26-24. Iowa will have a huge upgrade at RB this year. No more 245lb white walkon trying to run outside zone and stretch plays. Waiting to see what Derrick Mitchell can do with the ball in his hands. QB should be an improvement. The reason Rudock is playing at Michigan this year is because of last year's Nebraska game. OL is green but will be fine by conference play, KF sucks at some coaching aspects but coaching OL is not one of them. Yes the fans are restless and starting to vote with their wallets. Probably the most important year for KF since 2008.
LOL, hang your hat proudly on that, Iowa fan! Damn you guys are pathetic.I don't think we'll be very good, but neither will Nebraska.
Iowa's DL is going to be pretty tough.
#67 Johnson will be a 2017 NFL draft pick at DT. He'll be better than Carl Davis
Bazata, Cooper, Ekatitie, Ott, Johnson and Meier will be a pretty strong rotation.
Look at the average star rankings. Iowa's is 2.62. Nebraska's is 3.07. That gives you a better idea of the relative strength of the two classes. Overall rankings don't mean squat at this point because it's so heavily influenced by the number of players in the class. Iowa's average star rating is the 2nd lowest in the conference. With 21 recruits, that means it likely won't go up much more than that barring a big influx of talent in what you have left. Both teams have a bunch of 3 *s. You have two 4s and Iowa has some 2s. BFD. I know, recruiting sites vary in terms of ranking, but do you really not understand how numbers inflate rankings? That's amusing...
Here's a lesson for you: when the recruiting cycle ends and we each have full classes, ours is going to be much more impressive in terms of stars and accolades... By that time you will be lucky to be top 50... You will not be singing the same tune you are now. Guaranteed.
