Most of us level headed fans realize that. Iowa is a developmental program and most likely will be. However , that being said, they send a ton of players to the next level and NFL teams have a high level of respect for Kirk Ferentz.
I’ve grown tired of KF’s approach and they need some new blood, but the next coach will be similar. Run the football, control the LOS, and play sound fundamental defense.

Screw being developmental and sending guys to the NFL. What does that get you here and now. I'm not being an ass about it but it's just a metric to hang your hat on when there is nothing else to hang your hat on. It's not getting you better players or higher NIL. It's plodding along with the rights to say, well we send players to the NFL. So do other schools, but they have cases full of trophies getting them there.

That's awesome you were able to experience those glory days 30+ years ago.

I'm 32 years old - Nebraska's best season was when Nebraska lost to Texas in the Big 12 Championship game. Let me repeat that, Nebraska's best season is when they lost the conference championship.

My daughter is a 7th grader, Nebraska hasn't had a winning season since she has been in school.

Since joining the Big Ten - Nebraska is 4-9 against Iowa, which included 7 straight losses.

Nebraska is 1-3 against Colorado and currently, Colorado is the better football program, is bowl eligible and is competing for a conference championship appearance.

Other programs that have hired a new coach and have had success within 2 seasons: Indiana, let's add in UCLA, Duke, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Illinois, Washington and Northwestern to just name a few.

As I mentioned earlier, the success Nebraska had 20+ years ago is irrelevant and does not matter. Nebraska's historic traditions of winning, national championships, pointless sellout steak do not matter anymore when the current era Nebraska teams don't follow the tradition.

In the what have you done lately category- Nebraska is at the very bottom. I can't think of a team that has done worse than Nebraska over the past decade.

You can talk smack about Colorado and Iowa all you want but you're just living in the 90s while they're living in the NOW.

Clarkeyes, always picking the years that work best for them. Why are you trying to hitch your wagon to Colorado? We did beat them!

Here's the funny thing, that 7 year old daughter will grow old watching the same lack luster Iowa team you did.

Funny how Iowa poster sit on there board calling us arrogant, but here they are on our board knocking arrogant out of the ball park!

Not sure I give a shit about the eternal 7-5 or 8-4 Kirk Ferentz football team.

They accept complete mediocrity and occasional Top 25 appearances.

We suck. But being Iowa suck is a whole other level of suck and cope.

Dude is in his 25th season as head coach, is 201-122 and has never won an outright B10 Championship and never even finished in the Top 10 of the polls at the end of any season.

There is suck, and then there is accepting 25 years of mediocre results at best and bragging about it suck.

Iowa has finished top 10 several times in Kirk's tenure. Talk all the trash you want, but at least get the facts straight.
