Why is it that we are constantly hearing about Foltz and other teams are honoring him before every game etc... but Michigan State has done or recieved almost nothing for Sadler. I know that he had just graduated but it seems odd to me.

Nebraska has made it a main focus and I've only heard about Sadler a couple of times.

Maybe they are doing those things, I'm just not aware?

It shouldn't matter a great deal but it may be due to the fact that Sadler had graduated and was no longer on the team. Not any less tragic but technically he wasn't on the team

The fact that he had graduated would be my guess. By all accounts he was a great person.

Michigan St. did paint Sadlers number on their field. (#3 I believe)I assume it has remained on the field. Plus the coin being used for Big 10 games honors both Sadler and Foltz.

Michigan State did a ceremony for him at their first conference game, placing a #3 inside the Spartan logo at midfield and inducted him into their Hall of Fame-waiving the usual requirements.
Keep in mind that Mike Sadler had not only already graduated from MSU, he did so 2 years ago. There is a big difference between somebody who is 2 years removed from the team like Mike Sadler and one that was a current member like Sam Foltz. And not only was Sam a current member, but he was a leader, one of the most beloved and liked players and probably a shoo-in to be a captain. That certainly makes Sam on the minds of the current Husker players so much more than Sadler, whom a good number of the current MSU players didn't even know. That probably accounts for the difference too in why Sam is much more of a focus by Nebraska this season than Sadler is for MSU. Also take into account how many of the things honoring Sam are done by Sam's peers in the kicking and punting community on other teams-players who are probably more likely to have known Sam since he was closer to their age.
