I'm looking to get one to replace my Toro gas mower. Poor fella is just getting old. I have questions about electric mowers and I'm more concerned about QUALITY OF CUT than life of battery, etc. (I'll get to that later) I have a fairly small front and back yard. Normally takes me 20-25 minutes tops to mow both. With my OCD, I never let it get too long to where it gets out of hand so really easy mowing. Normally there's far less than one full lawn bag of clippings.
I looked at some reviews online and of course the EGO is rated best overall but I don't need an 80 minute battery life mower (56v). Lowe's has them but are $6-800 not including battery!..Toro ranks "best cut" but only has 40 minutes of battery life (40v). They are $650ish with battery. So, the Toro is appealing because of my small yard and ranks best in cutting. My concern is how accurate the battery life estimates are. Does 40 minutes really mean 20 minutes or is it pretty accurate? Do the batteries last for years or do they need replaced quickly? I've had Toro mowers for almost 30 years and have always liked them but of course they've been gas.
I looked at Ryobi's at Home Depot yesterday and they have a much lower price than some ($500ish with battery), but maybe there's a reason?? Dewalt for about $7-800.
Let me know your thoughts. Pros and cons of any..TIA
