Hoiskers invade Madison as 7.5 underdogs

Juwan Gary should not be allowed more then 2-3point attempts per game. Connor Essegian should touch the ball on every offense possession.

Can’t believe he ran that same line up out. Same line up, same results…
Most coaches seem to think they’ll be struck dead if they don’t run the same five out there to start both halves, so it wasn’t a huge surprise. But in this case you would think someone on the staff might have pulled Fred aside and said, “You did see the first 6 minutes of the game, right?”

This team won’t win another game till Super Bowl Sunday and even that is a reach now after looking at their next 4 games.

All depends on how well the head coach takes feedback from staff. If he typical ignores them then no one will pull him aside

16 of 33 on 3s. At some point, you have to change your defense and do something different.
They can’t. If they did, teams would be driving on us and dunking on us all day.

Off topic: Have you notice how Wisconsin isn’t even into this game? They’re laughing. Hell, Klesmit was looking into the crowd and not even guarding when we had the ball. So embarrassing!

If/when does the heat turn up on Fred? This team has the look of one that has Q.
The heat may turn up some this season. But once again will need to pull in 10 or so transfers and hope they somehow gel together next season. The transfers have been underwhelming this year and if not for Gary and Williams return I’m not sure we would have a winning record.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that..
It will be tough to make a change any sooner than that, given that the interim AD decided to Santa Claus him an extension through 2029.

I get that last season was fairly successful. But most places that would fall under the category of doing your job, not grounds to a ticker tape parade.

Yes he is!

I guess I don't understand why some fans are up in arms about Fred possibly getting canned, like, are they worried a new hire would also not make the BTT and the dance?
I think there's always the fear of rebooting and the lack of consistency within the program hurting long term efforts to make this program successful. Especially in light of how poor the result for doing so has been across both basketball and football over the last 20 years.

3 weeks ago I was all in on Fred staying and developing this program. But man it's getting hard to back him when we are getting blasted on the road, and can't protect our home turf.

If the season continues to crumble for this team, I'm not sure how much longer he has here.

I just can't see how you keep him if you don't make the BTT. That is 100% embarrassing.

I could live with this season being disappointing if Fred had brought in some good young talent and it just wasn't coming together yet. But my God, once Williams and Gary are out the door, this roster will be hard-pressed to compete in the Summit League.

But hey, we have to let our interim AD sign Fred to a big extension through 2029. Otherwise, sixth-year seniors looking for a 3rd program to play in will never want to come here!
