Sean Eichorst to Chris Mack - Coach I have worked with Tim Miles. I know Tim Miles. Tim Miles was a friend of mine. Coach, you're no Tim Miles.

That debate was in Omaha, right?I think the minimum age to get that joke is 45. Seems like a lot of jokes on this board recently make me feel this way.

Ed would be a pretty good role player for them just like he was for us. They've got scorers they wouldn't need Ed to score anything than put backs from rebounds.
And rumors Watson may be next. If that happens, my head is spinning thinking that Tim Miles may have five open scholarships to utilize this summer.
It is amazing that Benning can make his cute little comments, and the boot lickers hang on his every word. If someone hints at things here, the same people whine and bitch.Take with grain of salt, but on 1620 this morning Benning made a cryptic comment regarding something coming out regarding Nebrasketball by Monday that would lead Eichorst to rethink his "vote of confidence." Not sure if anyone else heard, it was between 7:30 and 8:00.
So he'd be valuable to a team with scorers because he could get rebounds and put backs, but he's not valuable to a team that shoots like $#%! where he'd have the opportunity at more offensive rebounds?
Don't waste your time. You are dealing with a substance more dense than Osmium.
If we have two more transfers and Miles isn't immediately fired, then Eichorst should immediately be fired by the Chancellor or Board of Regents.
Using Barfy as a credible argument when all he is, is Miles lap dog. You have officially gone full potatoThat story was reported by Barfnecht. Repeating that Barfnecht was told that SE reached out to representatives for several coaches is hardly starting a rumor. Barfnecht has very good sources within the basketball community and I don't doubt the truth of his report. That was at least a month ago and Miles is still our coach.
The "role player" we just offered to replace Ed Morrow averaged 3PPG and 4RPG for Winthrop this past year. 26% from the free throw line. Have to love it. You see, if you go 12-19 and have transfers but replace them with BETTER players...it's no big deal. But, if you go 12-19 and have transfers and don't replace them with better players? Well, you just continue to go under .500.

Is he White? If so probably too slow? But what would Lavar Ball say about this Winthrop guy?
Yes, the Bentsen-Quayle debate was in Omaha. Civic Auditorium Music Hall, I think, but I'm not 100% certain about the venue.Yikes, I forgot that, but you might be right about that. Little help anyone??????
I said that he was valuable role player and that we would miss his minutes. On the other hand you called him the best player on NU's team and that is not true.So he'd be valuable to a team with scorers because he could get rebounds and put backs, but he's not valuable to a team that shoots like $#%! where he'd have the opportunity at more offensive rebounds?
Because everything Benning hints at turns out to be trueIt is amazing that Benning can make his cute little comments, and the boot lickers hang on his every word. If someone hints at things here, the same people whine and bitch.
I don't disagree with your sentiment. Ed's surprise exit left us in a bind to try to find a replacement this late in the game. Hopefully we can find a big bodied Juco guy that can give us some minutes at the 5. BTW, the Winthrop center is bigger than Ed and only averaged 14 minutes for them. He's a defensive specialist and his points and rebounds IF projected to the number of minutes Ed played would be similar to Ed's. He shot 61% from the field but I see you chose to omit that fact. I hope we land him. We need him.The "role player" we just offered to replace Ed Morrow averaged 3PPG and 4RPG for Winthrop this past year. 26% from the free throw line. Have to love it. But putting in put backs from us isnt good enough to value keeping and no big deal if he leaves. On a team that cant shoot. That doesnt have a coach that runs an offense.Ed would be a pretty good role player for them just like he was for us. They've got scorers they wouldn't need Ed to score anything than put backs from rebounds.
Our basketball program is cursed.
Barry Collier knew it and tried incense and sht to remove the curse, but it didn't work.
We don't need a coach, we need a damn witch doctor.
On the other hand you called him the best player on NU's team and that is not true.
I could tell by his effort level late in the season that Watson wasn't happy with Miles. And that's interesting to me because of the role Watson had in Miles' "offense". I can understand Morrow and Jacobsen getting tired of setting ball screens and never getting the ball passed to them in the low post. And rumors Watson may be next. If that happens, my head is spinning thinking that Tim Miles may have five open scholarships to utilize this summer.
Great teams have great role players. Ed Morrow is a great role player. Hopefully, he'll be able to grow his offensive game a little better in a different system and get more opportunities with the ball in his hands.Hard to believe an Elite Eight team would be interested in a guy who's basically David Rivers, only not as good. Chris Mack must have never even played basketball.
Honestly, what fifth year big man would watch film of Tim Miles' offense and want to play in that system? The "role player" we just offered to replace Ed Morrow averaged 3PPG and 4RPG for Winthrop this past year. 26% from the free throw line. My mistake. It was that other coaching genius Charlie Marlow that said that. I'm sure that there are lots of coaches that want an energy guy like Ed available off the bench to give them some fouls and rebounds.Uh, no I didn't say that, but he apparently is good enough for a coach who just made the Elite 8.
The problem is that according to what he said, Ed doesn't like the role he's suited to fill. He wants to be a wing scorer and he can't shoot or dribble without turning the ball over. I don't know who puts some of the ideas in to these kids' heads. A friend of mine that has been around the Creighton program said that Mac routinely tells his kids that this job is "to get you ready for the NBA". It's interesting that Ed used similar words when discussing his reasons for transferring. We (the schools) are doing a terrible disservice to most of these kids by selling them that line of BS.Great teams have great role players. Ed Morrow is a great role player. Well the Winthrop kid probably looks at Ed having played 2-3 times as many minutes as him with a smaller body and similar skills and probably thinks, heck I can do that and I may put up better numbers than him in their offense because I'm bigger. BTW, because of that size he also looks like he would be a better post defender in the B1G than Ed.Honestly, what fifth year big man would watch film of Tim Miles' offense and want to play in that system?
Our best bet is finding a big guy who can pick and pop and just shoot the three. Preferably a very large guy who can play behind in post defense and get some position rebounds. Doesn't sound glamorous, but that kind of kid-- if you can find him-- would work in Miles' offense. Basically, a poor man's Mike Daum.
Hey look, we now have yet another reason why McDermott has completely dominated Tim Miles - and none of them have anything whatsoever to do with coaching ability.A friend that of mine that has been around the Creighton program said that Mac routinely tells his kids that this job is "to get you ready for the NBA". It's interesting that Ed used similar words when discussing his reasons for transferring. We (the schools) are doing a terrible disservice to most of these kids selling them that line of BS.
It looks like Morrow is also good enough for the team that's won the Big 12 tournament 3 of the last 4 years:
