I will admit, Jim C's ads that came out just before the movie did a good job of sparking interest. I thought it was odd, but he is an odd dude. Can someone here explain the actual plot and outcome of the movie? I will most likely never watch it for various reasons. What are we supposed to do to stop the trafficking? Does it give any solutions? I assume its non-fiction and unlike the Taken movies Jim Caviziel doesnt come in and machine gun all the bad guys. The movie is obviously doing its job by getting people talking, so....what do we do about it? Does the movie offer any solutions? And please dont respond with 'vote blue' or 'vote red'.
Your loss, it’s a great movie. It’s all about bringing awareness to the American public about this huge disgusting problem in our society.

It's a good movie and you can get free tickets online from people who have paid it forward. It may compel you to do something to help or it may just open your eyes to what is happening in the world. Watching a Pedo purchase an 8 year old boy might have an impact. Step one is acknowledging the size and scope of the problem.

Really? You watched ads about the movie and you are looking for someone to tell you the plot? Then a few words later, you write about what are we supposed to do to stop trafficking and you "assume" it is non fiction.

Seems to me you know the answers to all of the questions you asked.

Were you not aware of this prior to a movie? If it's not a documentary then you were watching an actor purchase a 8 year actor. So strange. I see advertisements showing sex trafficking statistics all the time. Weird that movie is such a revelation when it's clearly been a huge problem for years.

What’s strange is so many people have a problem with this movie, especially you people complaining about it that haven’t even watched it. Makes me wondering why so many oppose it, you all got something to hide or what?

Interesting that you would claim I have complained about it. I haven't. Maybe you and a bunch of others on this site are overcompensating because you actually have something to hide?

Also strange how you didn't answer my question. You weren't aware of the sex trafficking problem before the movie?

Awareness of the issue as a whole as compared to the severity of the issue and how big it is are probably where most people find themselves.

If you live in Nebraska and only watch MSNBC you probably do not have a real idea of the severity of the border crisis. You probably see it on occasion when some politician heads to El Paso and you see what they show you. The reality is that bodies float up on shore of the rio grande every single day from Brownsville to El Paso and it is only covered by the local news.

Unless it is going to come to 123456’s front door, he isn’t worried about it, and can’t figure out why others care.

On a related note, I can't believe I haven't seen anyone here post about the guy in Northern MN who beat a convicted sex offender to death who he said was stalking his daughter. With a moose antler and a shovel.

100% wrong. Hang them all. I just don't get how everyone gets all stirred up about the flavor of the day. The way people obsess about it on a football board you would they are the head of groups actually stopping it. I'm sure the reality is much different and most people on here don't do a damn thing but use it as another way to bitch and stereotype.

yep I am aware of the child sex trafficking, lot more prevalent with this open border we have. Being the father of five, I’ve been watching out for predators against my children for years. Nice try though. I have nothing to hide, God‘s children are not for sale.

Christ almighty...movie says 'based on a true story'. I am well aware child trafficking exists FFS. Is this about an agent taking down some big ring, is it just a documentary, what? Also, do they give the average guy anything he can do to help. I know you wont be the guy to tell me, but maybe someone else here understands how to talk to other humans in a normal way.

Of course people are aware, but sometimes a well written & well filmed movie can increase that awareness or inspire people to do more.

Strange take to be like, "What's the big deal about this movie, didn't you already know about child sex trafficking?!"

Here is how you can help

It took less than 30 seconds of a google search, or less time than it took you type out your two posts on the subject.

The way people are worked up would be like a ton of people watching Saving Private Ryan and all the sudden start flying American flags, attending veterans rallies, donating to veterans groups. Where I would think, you honestly didn't know about Dday and now your super interested in that stuff?

May I ask which one is which? I haven't seen The media bash Sound of Freedom (but I don't watch much), and I can't remember Cuties media coverage well enough, because it came out when Covid was the main topic
Wtf is cuties?

Let me get this straight. You're bothered that people are now more passionate about child sex trafficking and also doing something more about it, due to a movie?

Unless it is going to come to 123456’s front door, he isn’t worried about it, and can’t figure out why others care.
Then he'd be mad at whoever sent them to his front door, while still voting for the people who allow them in to other people's front door, while patting himself on the back for it.

Correction: Maybe not him, but certainly the libs in the northeast.

Sounds like he has some skeletons in his closet.
He doesn't. I don't like accusing people of something that serious.

However, I do believe part of his reaction to all this is that he does feel guilty as he knows deep down the policies and people he supports, and the media he uses, are major problems that allow trafficking to continue at such alarming rates. That's what bugs him, he knows it deep down.

Some probably didn't, and most certainly do not know about how horrible it was. So of course that movie would affect people---hell it affected me when I saw it and drove me to learn more.

Same with movies about trafficking. When good movies are made people get into it, they get to know the characters beyond words on a screen, they see people instead of numbers and statistics, and it moves them to learn more or makes them more aware. It was films, documentaries, and actually seeing aborted babies that opened my eyes to the horrors of abortion, which was something I already "knew about" , but didn't really know about.

.I don't know why you find this so surprising. Wait, I know you actually don't, you're just angry. I shouldn't be wasting my time.

French film from 2020. The film received polarizing reviews from audiences following its release on Netflix, due in part to sexually suggestive scenes involving the child actors.

Amy, an 11-year-old girl from Senegal, lives with her mother Mariam and two younger brothers, one of them named Ishmael, in an apartment one of Paris' poorest neighbourhoods. She is angered by her polygynous father, who is preparing to return with a second wife. She is also bored with Islamic culture that her aunt seeks to impress on her. Amy is fascinated by her disobedient neighbour Angelica's pre-teen twerking clique, the Cuties, which is in stark contrast to Mariam's Muslim customs. They do not hesitate to adopt revealing outfits against their older rivals, the Sweety Swags. In the quest for online recognition, Amy decides to incorporate suggestive dance moves into the choreography. After getting pantsed for fighting with Sweety Swags, she steals her cousin’s phone and sends a photo of her vulva online to a social network in an attempt to look mature, backfiring heavily with her being ostracised, also causing a rift between her and the Cuties who kick her out, replaced with former member Yasmine. Her mother also confronts her for committing such indecency. She and her aunt tried performing exorcism on Amy, but it failed.

***Some Spoilers***

It is a movie, not a documentary. It starts off with girl from Honduras playing music with her sandals and singing a song in her room before an attractive black women in high heels comes to the door. The woman tells the the girl she has a beautiful voice and she could help her get better at it. The girl begs her dad to let her do it.

While she is doing that, her little brother gets home from soccer practice. The woman tells the father he has a perfect face and will have a shot too. The father follows the woman to a place where they are going to do the auditions, and when he gets there the women says "No parents over anxious parents beyond this point, pick up time is 7PM".

When the father gets back, the room is empty and he realized he lost his children to a scam.

Jim Caviezel is in the middle of busting a Pedophile, and while doing it he cons him into believing he is a Pedophile himself and con the guy into showing his true colors. While doing it he shares the picture of the little brother, and they pick up the guy about to traffic him at the border. (It shows how the boy gets to the guy, and it is gut wrenching stuff.)

Jim Caviezel's character finds out the boy has a sister after saving him. That builds to the plot of the movie. He goes on a mission to save the little girl and bring her back to her father. He saves multiple other children while trying to find the girl he is looking for, and what you see is how they lure Pedophiles and Traffickers into believing they are all in for a big pay day at the expense of pimping out all the trafficked kids.

No. I basically question how genuine people are in caring about this issue. My feeling is most of the people repeatedly posting about this stuff only really care because it's another reason to hate and stereotype people.

The posting history of a lot of people on this board would suggest they spend every waking hour volunteering for advocacy groups or tracking down missing girls. Which in reality they don't care any more or less than anyone else. They just use it as an opportunity to once again further an agenda on a football message board.

Making assumptions about people is a major problem in this country. Funny how if you aren't an extremist for one side than you automatically must be for the other side. People around here remind me of South Park. Pretending to be all worked up about stuff they really don't care about more than the average person.

Yes, you are completely wasting your time. I bet you never do anything about sex trafficking other than bitch about it on a football message board. So carry on with your crusade dude.

While I wouldn't shed a tear if that happened to those POS, I'd rather let them suffer in "pound you in the ass" prison.
That's the thing. He was already released after years in prison and the dad felt he was going to re-offend with his young daughter.

You're right. We should ignore it, say nothing and draw no attention to it, unless we are personally planning to travel to Columbia and raid a pedophile ring.

Haven't seen the movie but I'd argue that society becoming increasingly soft is at the core of all our problems. Somebody touches a kid and it should be a 5 minute conversation of how this is gonna end for him/her. Not this do 3 years and get out crap. There should be no such thing as a repeat offender of this crime.

By all means. Keep at it. You are truly making a difference. By posting about sex trafficking on a Husker football message board. It's practically the same as personally walking the downtown streets of some big city at night looking for runaway teenage girls.
