Fidone catch

Great catch. We desperately needed this dude to step up and he has. HH has to grow up quickly in the passing game and Fidone, Grant and Kemp have to be outstanding for this offense to move the ball at all.
Fair assessment and we're hoping they can continue to improve on going just that and praying those specific dudes can stay relatively healthy.

I foresee lots of triple option passes against Meatchicken, especially if they show early to key in on the Qb keep early on. Here's to hoping we hit some of those!

Looks like Haarbagh put it out of the reach of would be defensers with as high as he went up to get it and that's what you want to do.
Perhaps you can share which defender was in "reach" of the throw. The backer blitzed and vacated the area, he was out of the play and the safety was pulled out by a WR so no defender was in the area. It is on film, it is your friend.

Here ya go bud, if you'll notice #3 playing rover and had Haarberg thrown that ball lower it woulda gotten picked off! Sorry to shatter yore dreams of trying to bury someone. It's pretty bad when one does that even when they are 1000% wrong! LMFAO!!!!

You are so right, he had to throw it way over a guy who was over 5 yards in front of him and the TE had to jump up and reach back to get the ball. I guess if you are using that measure, a D lineman right in front of HH was in the way too but somehow managed to get the ball off. It isn't like he had to thread any needles or even lob it in. In what world of football would that not be called wide open. Oh right, the LB was so close he could have actually tackled him. Oh wait, he wasn't even close enough to even get a hand on him.

This is a very generous description of the situation. He could have simply thrown the ball closer to the sideline with a bit of touch and the linebacker would have had no chance to make a play on it. A more accurate passer would have done so easily.

But why not use size to your advantage and throw the ball up enough like was done so that the DB can't get to it as it's out of his reach as the ball is thrown higher than he can catch? Problem solved.

I think the point is HH didn't need to use Fidones size and athleticism to complete that pass. He could have easily thrown a small rainbow pass that went higher and landed much lower with zero chance the guy in the middle could touch it. Just a little touch and thats a very simple pitch and catch.

mahomes just threw high to kelce in the end zone

would've been an easy score

where is the outrage?

The purdy and sims lovers have to b!tch about td throws.. they are pathetic losers with low T
I think Haarberg is clearly the best option available. I also think it's fair to express concern that he doesn't have the passing accuracy to be effective against better competition. That's not advocating for a change at QB. I hope he can improve because we will need better QB play if we want to keep winning games, and I don't think we're going to get it from anyone but him.

No. He’s a good player. Especially on this roster. But he’s not Crouch or Frazier or even Gill - a true difference maker. Sadly, we don’t have any players on offense that fit that description.
The quicker Top kong comes to realization with this he can move on..

If HH is that player like the one you mentioned, no reason why we can’t win the west division or make it to a bowl..

No it’s not, but you got people on this board that obviously deep down don’t want HH to be the guy. They play like their innocent but you see it.

And to say HH isn’t accurate is stating something obvious. Duh. That’s why we use the Josh Allen comparison over and over again. Remember when Allen came to Lincoln? JA didn’t look to dam accurate then. He threw 5 picks. HH just needs to continue to throw just like Josh did. Keep working on it. Most coaches hate inaccurate QBs because it’s hard to fix but a player can fix it if he throws a ton. And we don’t need HH being Josh Allen to win.

We need him to not turn the ball over (which he’s doing) and put up +21. If we do that, no doubt we will go bowling this year. no other QB on our roster has proven to do either of those things with their chance. None.
there is NOBODY on this board who doesn’t want Haarberg to be the guy. The problem is that he’s been a 51% passer against 2 shitty teams. He might be the best we have but the question is if his running ability will be enough to compensate for his shortcomings in the passing game against better teams. Fans want the whole package.

he's the best we got this season.. should support him. heck, maybe we get to a bowl game.. I think it's possible.

You won’t find a single post from me saying he’s Crouch or Frazier or anything but the best QB on the current roster.

You will find many unanswered posts to @dinglefritz asking if his “it was a mistake to take him” comment still stands, however

I suspect those will go unanswered permanently, or at least until Haarberg plays bad enough for him to say he was right all along

Guessing he’s chosen to ignore me instead of admit he was wrong, which would be typical of a blowhard who believes his intellect to be infallible.

Haarberg is our best offensive player today & is a kid we should be putting stock in for the future. Leader with all the intangibles to go along with his obvious physical tools.

Very excited to see him improve.

We need to sign better QBs than Haarberg if we want win conference titles. That was my point. Do you disagree with that? He might get us close to a division title except divisions will be history soon.

Who knows. Maybe they coach him up to be the next Josh Allen….but I doubt it.

i thought josh allen when we recruited him. still do. hh can get better. smart player with a bunch of possibles ahead of him. a bunch of possibles for fidone too. keeping mistakes at a minimum is the key this year. tackling was very poor at times yesterday and will need tuned back up against meatchickens.

So you stand by your comment: “taking him was a mistake”?

Not surprised.

If you’re holding out hope we bring in a kid with higher upside than Haarberg, well, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Kaelin can’t beat Kearney High so that leaves 2025 at the earliest.

2026 he’ll be gone and by then we’re either winning at an acceptable clip or the staff is gone with him & we start all over.

He’s only 2 starts in so anything is possible I guess

Considering where we’re at with our QB room of course we need him now. We signed a project and OSU and Michigan were signing 4-5 star QBs with stellar resumes.

Tom was recruiting head to head with top 5 programs for the likes of Gill and Frazier. What were Haarberg’s other offers again?

surely you can admit you were wrong when during the spring game you said "there's no chance he plays this fall" after you said who cares if he's hurt?

It only came down to 2 schools recruiting Gill and to this day Switzer admits losing his committment haunted him as Gill was the one recruit he lost that bothered him the most. Frazier was being heavily recruited by Colorado before we even got in the picture with him, but they were recruiting him as a DB.

The announcer literally said “under pressure” as he released it

Nowhere did I hear “plenty of time to throw”, like you posted

Why the misinformation?
Go rewatch the game lol Matt Millen even says, "the blitz was picked up". When they replayed the score, the announcers break it down say he had time to throw. I noticed you completely ignored the fact that you were completely wrong on every basis of that play in your original posts. It's ok though, I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong 🙂

Are you still complaining about a td pass?

It was a great play by Fidone! I don't think anyone is complaining about the TD. The pass, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. Going 8-17 against LA Tech is another discussion. No surprise you're here to back your buddy no matter how wrong he was about how that play actually broke down.
suck my dick GIF

Only a left wing loon like yourself would continue to cry about td passes. I’ll support HH and celebrate his td tosses.

You're the one that posted a clear video of HH throwing behind Fidone and then have the audacity to say well if he didn't put it up it would've been picked lol. Yeah and if he would have just threw the ball out front of Fidone, that LB wouldn't be anywhere near the play. Now go run along little boy. It's clear you have zero clue what you're analyzing 😂😂

Aawww....throwing shade with politics and name calling. Now who's getting dunked on

By the way, I've enjoyed watching a Nebraska guy have some success, but let's not act like HH is a great QB. Does he hold on to the ball better than Sims? Absolutely. But there's nothing else he does extraordinarily better, like you and Kong wants us all to believe.

Jesus f@ck you idiots. Awesome we scored a TD. It wasn't a great pass. Just good enough? Yes.
Hopefully HH continues to improve. We are glad to have him, he deserved a schollie, and Fraud should have played him some and given him more reps in practices his first years.
But his accuracy definitely needs work. Something people discuss on a f@cking message boards.

Admitting that HH is a less than accurate passer isn't wanting him to fail.
Reading a post that says people will be clamoring for Jeff Sims after next week says different after only his second start in this very thread. Multiple years plus 2 games as a starter this year Sims is exactly the same. Dingle has really led the crusade against HH since spring. Sad deal for the kid. Just glad @dinglefritz has no say in.
