Those 3 are in the running, and that's the order of probability is the rumor.

Washington it is. They just had the #1 pick. Hard to compete with that. Not sure he was considered a must-get. Hopefully bigger fish to fry.

Washington had a horrible team (9-22) AND fired the head coach and staff responsible for that #1 pick. They had the #1 pick in the NBA draft and might have had a worse team than Neb.

I've watched him a few times and he's definitely one of the best high school players in the state, but I don't see him being a major difference maker at the Pac-12/Big Ten level. He's way too skinny to play inside but not quick enough to play guard at that level.

I kind of agree from the very limited things I have seen.

I can tell you right now that Ed Chang is too lazy on defense. I watched him play Millard South and he would make Tim Miles lose his s***... I am on record saying this about 3 months ago. Not a big loss IMO, and I am going off of what I saw first hand

From the sounds of this thread, he probably made the right decision. Tough crowd.

I wish we would get the legit D1 talent in the state...there's not always many, and Ed clearly is by the legit offers he had. Good luck young man!

Has Miles really only landed 1 in state player ever? I just looked back all his commits and only see 1. I know the state is not rich with basketball talent but when solid players have came out of the state, Miles has missed.

Miles loosing his s*** on his players seems to be a fairly normal thing.

Tim Miles, coach of the 13th ranked defense in the B1G, and by far the worst 3-point defense, would "lose his sh**" on a lazy player? Yeah okay..

Meh. It's b-ball. I was concerned that we may have missed out on an in-state FB prospect.

Exactly. Our basketball program is in hibernation mode for the foreseeable future, so honestly, who cares?

Like I've said before, if Miles can turn around the absolute s--- show that dropped 13 of its last 16 games and got bounced from the Big Ten Tournament by Penn State, nobody's really going to be too worried about his in-state recruiting prowess. But if the program continues to underachieve, losing out on an in-state kid just gets tacked onto the list of reasons Miles had to go.

Exactly like I feel. Love the guy, but I want to win. Win on the court. Win on recruits. Not everything is his fault. However, everything is his responsibility. He needs to pull a rabbit out of his hat. I'm pulling for him. If not, then it will time to try someone else.

Dang. This is a very bad sign for Miles. In order to turn this program around he needs to lock down the few decent in State kids every year. Fail at that and it is hard to see how he can attract top shelf talent from outside the State.

Oh well... NU basketball has been a dumpster fire and a laughing stock for decades. Hard to see this as anything other than more of the same. It really does start to breed apathy after a while.

I like the Chang kid personally. People always nit pick at the local kids. They see these kids play more than just a highlight video on the interwebs. Local "experts" blasted Justin Patton as well. Well Greg McDermott liked both of these kids. I'll go ahead and trust his judgement. These big kids need time. That's why I'm high on Isaiah Roby as well. Roby was a major project when Miles signed him. People didn't say a single negative word about him though since their familiarity with Isaiah was limited to the aforementioned highlight clips and he wasn't from in-state.

As for Miles, sounds like Miles gave a "Doc Sadler" effort to recruiting Chang (see Elliason, Elliot and Gesell, Mike). So I doubt that Miles is losing any sleep over losing yet another in-state recruit that he didn't really want all that much anyway.

If the kid doesn't play defense he's not that different from many of the NBA players I've watched the past few years. He's a 6'8" shooter with some athleticism and only a junior in high school. Guess there are plenty of those guys lying around that we can go find elsewhere.
