We need a QB. Kaelin isn't ready and Purdy isn't a starting Big qb. If doesn't make this visit for a 25 percent chance we could have went a different route.

Penix would have been an UDFA. No doubt McCord hopes he can improve his chances this next year. If not he’ll be an UDFA camp arm. The NFL doesn't like statue QBs anymore. Athletic guys are the norm across the board pretty much now. Even guys like Kirk Cousins are more athletic than McCord.

Spring is dicey. You are basically taking guys who didn't start in the fall and then got beat out again the spring. I would be leery of a spring qb. You may get lucky and hit on a guy getting his degree in May, but I wouldn't count on it.

Maybe Dylan told Rhule he was not sure yet but would like to visit Nebraska, but no promise he would flip from Georgia. Who knows. I think you still get Dylan. If McCord wanted to be the guaranteed starter but didn’t believe enough in his abilities to beat out Purdy, HH and 2 true freshmen then I wouldn’t want him anyway.

What does loyalty have to do with anything? Do you know that Rhule promised Kaelin that he wouldn’t continue to recruit top level QBs? What sort of loyalty did Kaelin show Missouri? Who cares?

And yes, Dylan could beat out KM. Seems to me that McCord understands risk assessment better than Brother Matt and you do. One in hand is better than a maybe. You only go after Dylan in this situation if it’s for sure. You don’t jeopardize everything for a maybe. Like I said, the saying is F-around and find out.

I really hope that DR commits and this is a none issue. I will praise Matt if it comes out that way. But that’s business. If I was working on a prospective client and I had them pretty much locked up and then axed the deal to go after a better client and lost both, yes my ass would be rightfully on the line.
