Do you feel better or worse?

Just got back from the stadium and honestly I feel worse.

That was one of the weaker opponents I've seen play in Memorial this decade..

Not nearly Chattenooga bad but comparable to the Owls of Florida Atlantic.

Wyoming looked much worse than I thought they would. I thought we dominated the game for the most part except for the score, but we still allowed them to stay in it for far too long. With how bad we played in the 4th quarter last year, that's not going to be good enough against better teams.

Seriously, I don't get this. Look around college football today. We had one of the more impressive games. Some of you are just too knee jerk critical and never seem to notice that there are plenty of teams out there that have it worse than us. Could some of you for once just take a 35 point win and be happy with it? It's almost like some of you who grumble, gripe and complain all the time think you're impressing the rest of us because you have such high standards. 35 point win. For once take that and stop looking for the problems.

I think everyone for the most part expected a win ... many view these games with the mindset of how this level of play is going to translate on the scoreboard when we play Oregon, Iowa, OSU, Wisconsin etc. Hard to project but what many are trying to evaluate is whether the level of play we saw today would translate into a win against some of these higher profile teams. We will start to get answers next week, but if we don't get it done next week then I think some of the concerns brought up during the first 2 weeks of the season would be validated even though we won handily.

I think the D is ahead of last season - but pass rush is a problem and we aren't good enough to just play man and blitz constantly. Offense can move the ball - but too many mistakes and TA still is going to make the bone head play occasionally. Special teams are not where they need to be. So we are ahead of last season - but not by much and schedule gets alot harder starting next week.

Couldn't agree more.

On balance worse but some good things.

Worse because we need more pressure on QB's. Worse because our offense does not have the power running game and does not use Tommy's reading/roll out ability.

I did like the screen game. Could be effective when dealing with aggressive defenses.

Thought Craig Bohl did a lot with the personnel he had. Our line couldn't seem to move Wyoming.

He has more sacks than anyone else on d line and the D not named Kalu. He also has a fumble recovery, so I wonder what you think of the rest of the D line ...
I was being sarcastic. Dzuris has gotten more flak on this board than any other player, and it's undeserved. He's a good player.

We had an impressive 4th quarter. Not sure I would call it one of the most impressive games overall. It was a 7 point game after 3 quarters against a very bad opponent. Lots of dumb mistakes up to that point.

Wisconsin and Iowa have looked very good so far this season. We have a lot to clean up if we want to beat either of those teams on the road and challenge for the division.

We have more talented players and inferior coaching. Wyoming has more talented coaching and vastly inferior players.
Thought there were some good things today and I'm actually very impressed with our dline.

I actually thought the same thing. Give Bohl our players and Riley Wyoming's and Bohl wins 9 out of 10.

In 14 years of posting on this board, I can't remember a more depressing thread. At least not after winning big. Back in the day, people would at least wait until Sunday morning or after church to start bitching.

Either of them would win 10 out of 10 with our players over theirs.
We win 10 out of 10 times with our players and our coaches. No need to tear down our coaches and prop up theirs. If Craig Bohl wasn't an ex-Husker, nobody would feel the need to try and prop him up.

Well TA completed 58% of his passes with nearly 400 yards and only 1 INT?

That's pretty darn close to what we're shooting for, assuming the running game contributes a decent bit in any given game.

I'm not tearing ours down. I think Riley if he is smart can win at nu. Ex husker has nothing to do with anything. Bohl and his staff are superior coaches. Period.
And a three time national champ doesn't need propping.

We'll see. I like Bohl as a head coach. He proved his mettle in a fairly small pond.

However, if we were Wyoming's fan base, we'd be ripping Bohl a new one because he dumped his identity to throw the ball around the yard, on the road, with a young QB in a hostile environment, and virtually no kicking game to relieve the TD or Bust pressure on the O.

God help us if Riley has a game with 6 turnovers in the 4th after 3 hard fought quarters.

This is why I posted earlier that I thought our dline played very well. Wyo tried running and we shut it down. They are not a bad running team and have an all conference caliber back. We forced them into doing what they didn't want to do. Their ab missed some open receivers and their kicker hurt them in the first half. I thought wyo put their players in positions to make plays and they didn't come through. They also had many 3rd and short situations which is a credit to them but also a credit to our dline as they didn't convert any of them.

I created the OP as Fyfe was driving for the long pass. Less than 10 minutes prior to that the game was still in question. Some people keep referencing the spread and apparently don't care that it was a 7 point game at the start of the 4th quarter and the offense had done nothing for nearly two quarters. Then the opposing team's QB got a bit desperate and the D capitalized. They deserve credit for that. I don't know what you're seeing to make this the most depressing thread you've seen. The score doesn't tell the whole story.

I feel worse personally. Our mental errors and our mentally weak players that are veterans scare me. When we play a defense with a pulse that can both bring pressure and cover a good WR Tommy might throw 5 INTs. I think our underneath pass defense is weak and we really really got lucky on most of our takeaways today. My biggest fear is that the players are really feeling good about themselves right now and patting themselves on the back without realizing they could really get exposed with a better team with the right game plan.

I think we are better then you've seen in awhile. The coaching has allowed the athleticism to shine.

What we saw was a well coached team imposing itself on an opponent. As l asked in another thread, are these ticky tack calls going on in other games?

You people are just unbelievable. We finally force some(a lot) of turnovers, and you can't even bear to give credit to us for getting them. We just "got lucky" on them. It just hurts you so bad to give us credit for anything, doesn't it? The reason why you feel worse is your own pi$$ poor attitude. Nothing we can do will satisfy somebody that refuses to be impressed or give credit where credit is due. So don't blame the team for what is your own fault.

People like you are hilarious. People like you will be running back to the boards asking the moderators how we can look so good and then give up 400 yards passing to Oregon and Ohio State. When Gerry was thrown a ball by Wyoming's QB without a WR within 10 yards of him do you think that was skill? When Kieron Williams was running 5 yards behind an open WR and the WR does his best volleyball move and set it up to Kieron to intercept was that skill? I truly think our DBs are more athletic than they've been in a few years and they could be really good players - especially Chris Jones. However, until guys like Gerry show they can cover and we can even remotely take away the 7-10 yard underneath routes we will really struggle this season. A good coaching staff that has much better QBs and WRs than Fresno State and Wyoming will watch our game film and throw 7 yard out routes until their quarterback's arm gets sore. I'm sorry if this upsets you.

No, I would(not will) do nothing of the sort. I don't take some joy and delight in running down my own team like you do.

You really can spot the upset fan who still have their "Bo knows" shirt.

I'm not sure why at least one obvious pass directly to Gerry is controversial. I don't consider it a ding on the kid that he didn't have to move mountains to catch it. I'm just glad he caught it. In years past, our secondary has had trouble converting even those easy plays.

At the same time, those type of plays are going to be few and far between. I was impressed by a few folks in our secondary who are starting to make good breaks on the ball and go get their own interceptions. That's stuff we're going to need to improve upon to get to the level we want to be.

I hope you're not referring to me or you don't know me very well. I wanted Bo gone 5 years ago. I'm just trying to slow down the posters who think we have 4 Jim Thorpe finalists in our secondary because we intercepted Wyoming a few times. There are a lot of things we need to figure out as a defense or we'll get exposed sooner than later. If anything, I blame Pelini on his dismal DE recruiting that forces our CBs to play off the ball and be more conservative than the coaches would like. If you think I'm some Boliever sympathizer then you got the wrong guy.

Then your some Tom guy who still holds a grudge against Shawn. Either way get over it! Our team looks lightyears better then anything we've seen in years. We play hard and fast and how can you bitch about that. No pre snap penalties and we won the turnover battle??? Smile much???
