Another good coaching coming to the Big Ten. Sounds like Buzz wanted to get away from Trev.
Buzz has never won shitMaryland wants to win. Sure would be nice at Nebraska.
he’ll be good until it’s time to leave again in 3-4 yearsI remember wanting him in the past when we made one of our bad hires. He'll be good at Maryland.
He has good success at all stops makes the tournament. But it seems after 5-6 years he has the itch to move to another job / challenge. Some people in every profession are just like that. 🤷Buzz just jumps at odd geographic jobs. Some success at Marquette and goes to VaTech. Then he goes back home to Texas, only to jump to Maryland.
Must be that he was being forced out and/or making a lot more dough $$$$ at the new school. IDK.
Has he ever been fired? If he's a good coach and can win some games, I suppose it's good to get out while the getting is good. For the vast majority of basketball coaches, staying at one place too long will eventually get you fired. He has good success at all stops makes the tournament. Doesn’t look like he has ever been fired. So you may have a point. Leave while the iron is hot .Has he ever been fired? Anyway, he's a good coach. I like the fact that he still wears a suit at games. Love that old school approach.
Good analysis, Bo!He has good success at all stops makes the tournament. But it seems after 5-6 years he has the itch to move to another job / challenge. Some people in every profession are just like that. 🤷
Yeah, and that's not how I would do it. I would find a place that I was happy and stay there. Which would mean that I would get fired at some point!Doesn’t look like he has ever been fired. So you may have a point. Leave while the iron is hot .
The real head scratcher was his move to Va tech from Marquette . at the time was a major step down. maybe as @Dean Pope says he doesn’t want to stick long enough anywhere to be forced to look for work. He wants to choose where he works.Good analysis, Bo!

Popester, So are you talkning about Fred? If so, you nailed it!!!Yeah, and that's not how I would do it. I would find a place that I was happy and stay there. Which would mean that I would get fired at some point!
Nebraska would test that if he ever came here.Buzz is a good coach and wins wherever he goes.

Choosing to live in College Park, MD, of all places is an interesting choice. Especially for a Texas guy. Seems like he could have had much better options. You couldn't pay me to live in the D.C. area.
He would be the best coach in History at Nebraska day 1. All I am saying. Been to the sweet 16 several times.Buzz has never won shit
Still laughing....Nebraska would test that if he ever came here.
Is Trev really going to hire Chris Beard?
It is amazing that when Trev was AD at NU he was a huge pussy, a penny pincher and scared to hire coaches with some "background issues" but now he will hire Beard (which is a great hire).
Oh my god, you are right! I totally forgot about the Micky thing!Haha maybe Beard just wants to give the finger back to UT for firing him. I know they probably didn't have a choice (much like us with Mickey) but that whole deal seemed to be largely blown out of proportion from everything I saw.
Does seem a little ironic that Trev fired Mickey and may now hire Beard for very similar circumstances. I think the biggest difference is that Beard's accuser walked it back like almost immediately once she sobered up. Mickey's girl dug in on it a little longer IIRC
He's won a lot of games 🤷♂️ Way more than he's lostBuzz has never won shit
Sign me up for 3-4 years of Buzz at Nebraska.he’ll be good until it’s time to leave again in 3-4 years
Beard would be my #1 guy that I think could win at Nebraska. Not that he'd ever stoop to coach here at this point. But, he's a no bullshit, no excuses winner. His teams at Texas Tech were ferocious. Is Trev really going to hire Chris Beard?

Gotta believe if aTm wanted to keep him, matching Maryland money wouldn't be a problem.
Mickeys wife never took anything back. She just didn’t show up for court and it was dismissed. Don’t know about Beard . But Mickey is a POS with a history of beating women.Haha maybe Beard just wants to give the finger back to UT for firing him. Happy trails to Trev.Trev hires...some guy named Bucky McMillan. He was a high school coach in Alabama 5 years ago. Yikes.
Looks like he made a hire for Nebraska program not A&M hire too me..I think McMillan might be a good hire, but then I'm not an A&M booster. They are probably losing their minds.
Well This is it for Trev . With the baseball fiasco if this guy doesn’t work Trev will be done.I think McMillan might be a good hire, but then I'm not an A&M booster. They are probably losing their minds.

His buyout is high enough for him and to retire nicely.Happy trails to Trev.
