I'm still shocked that we now have casinos in Nebraska. So dumb to pour all that money into Iowa year after year. She's still living in the fairyland world of "Nebraskans are morally better than any other state in the union."
Alabama is still the Bible Belt holdout - no casinos and no lottery. She's still living in the fairyland world of "Nebraskans are morally better than any other state in the union."
But plenty of other "devils works." Not to mention extreme poverty and federal funding.Alabama is still the Bible Belt holdout - no casinos and no lottery.
Yes...It's the Nebraska way... In the meantime every landowner/homeowner are taking it in the shorts... But that's the public schools faults.I'm still shocked that we now have casinos in Nebraska. So dumb to pour all that money into Iowa year after year.
That state is the epitome of the dark ages and is a giant shit hole.Alabama is still the Bible Belt holdout - no casinos and no lottery.
I didn't mean it as a positive - more of an oddity given they are surrounded by states with these things and lose revenue to all surrounding states. But plenty of other "devils works." Not to mention extreme poverty and federal funding.
Alabama is considered one of the states that is most dependent on federal funding, with federal funding making up 27% of its state revenue. However, Alabama also holds onto millions of dollars in unspent federal funds that are meant to support low-income families.
Oddity or Ignorance? Not you...Alabama!I didn't mean it as a positive - more of an oddity given they are surrounded by states with these things and lose revenue to all surrounding states.
I would have loved to party with The Bobfather and Switzer back N the day.I grew up in the Devaney years smelling cigars & whisky on every guy's breath.
It's baseball I'm most happy about. It's the American way!
⚾ + 🌭 + 🍺 = 😎
Back when coaches could act like coaches and not have to pretend like it was a 24/7 job where they were not able to have a beer or go have fun.I would have loved to party with The Bobfather and Switzer back N the day.
Tacos and Tequila!! Breakfast of champions!!
Sounds like they are at least consistent. Allowing the lottery and pull tabs but not casinos doesn't make sense. Same for allowing alcohol and bars but not legalized weed. Be consistent.Alabama is still the Bible Belt holdout - no casinos and no lottery.
So she is the Reagent attempting to cause a precipitate here?Karen. I mean Kathy. 😭
I watched that live. God that got under my skin at the time. Now it's all just fond memories.I would have loved to party with The Bobfather and Switzer back N the day.

Barry is just a fun-loving good guy. He has nothing but love and respect for NU and T.O. His OU teams always had that Sooner Magic against T.O early in his career.I watched that live. God that got under my skin at the time. Now it's all just fond memories.

It took me a lot of years to be ok with Switzer. His remarks always got under my skin. It was even worse when he beat us, which was frequently.Barry is just a fun-loving good guy. Only thing positive about Bama is their football. But plenty of other "devils works." Not to mention extreme poverty and federal funding.

But they are good at football. That state is the epitome of the dark ages and is a giant shit hole.
Serving alcohol actually reduces how drunk people get at games. They don't try to drink enough in the parking lot to get through games.Great. More drunken idiots. Glad I have no interest in attending any games.

When are you going to get legal pot? I rarely notice it and Washington with Colorado was the first to legalize it. Pot is very low on the list. I think the dopers who are shooting up and leaving dirty needles laying around in public places are much more dangerous. I don't have any hard facts, but anecdotally I think the hardcore homeless, drug-crazed pain-in the- A$$ criminals are not smoking pot. They are doing much worse.I'm still shocked that we now have casinos in Nebraska. So dumb to pour all that money into Iowa year after year.
I don't know about the casinos in Nebraska. but the ones in Washington are not near as much fun as Vegas. I am not a big gambler, so I am no expert, but when I go to a casino here in Washington it feels kind of small time. The Indians, they are the only group that have casinos here, have built some really nice buildings, but I still think they are kind of hokey. I've been in Vegas 5 or 6 times in my life. I only go for a couple of days because it quickly becomes too much of too much for me.To be open, I have been to one casino in my life and it was to attend a meeting of college leaders. Think I spent $10 on some kind of machine, a dime at a time as I recall. Found it terribly boring. Still have never purchased a lottery ticket. When they first were available in KS the college I was at gave them at at our annual Christmas party and I won $2.00 so I am way ahead.
All that said, knowing the odds are stacked way against anyone winning. You go against those odds and with the constant drumbeat beat of how inflation has ravaged the economy of many, it seems there is still room for gambling. I don’t knock those that enjoy those things, part of living in a free, for now, country.
I don’t know what schools receive in NE from gambling but when I got out several years it wasn’t much. It sure wasn’t even close to what the pro-gamblers promised. Gambling is a big business as is selling alcohol, the casinos I drive by all seem to have nice big buildings and lots of shiny stuff to offer on someone else’s dime, just not mine.
Yep!Serving alcohol actually reduces how drunk people get at games. They don't try to drink enough in the parking lot to get through games.
Dude, Vegas is perfect for about 3 days, MAYBE 4...anything over that and it is just too much, I totally agree with you. When are you going to get legal pot? Mississippi says hello. That state is the epitome of the dark ages and is a giant shit hole.
I’ve been to plenty of sporting events where there’s alcohol sales and they’re no worse than the driunks at Husker games. Multiple empty single shot empty Fireball bottles were getting kicked down the bleachers from above our seats at the last home game. Sell beer for heavens sake.I look forward to watching the fights in the stands on YouTube 😂

I've drank inside at every single Nebraska home game that I attended. Big deal.I’ve been to plenty of sporting events where there’s alcohol sales and they’re no worse than the drinks at Husker games.
