Big 12 winner?

When is Trev/the chancellor finally going to throw a B1G media check cashing party??

Literally every Husker fan has been clamoring for it for years

Millions of dollars left on the table. Would absolutely outdraw volleyball. Smh
As a season ticket holder you should know they gave $100 off season tickets this year. Does that count?

I, for one, am outraged

we need to be nickel & diming everyone at every possible turn

is it all about money or is it not??????

Link?

Nvm, found it. A year old and incorrect. Typical.

You don't actually know what the correct amount is. Could be they reduced it to $7.8 billion. It's insignificant either way, no matter how big of deal you make it out to be.

1. you don't know, either.

2. we have more recent & accurate information than the year-old speculative article you referenced.

You posted an article last week that was just as speculative and also misleading by lumping the previously agreed upon covid loan into the new tv deal. So I would say this article is just fine.

you clearly didn't read it.

Bullet point 2 isn't relevant. Bullet point 3 is speculative. Point 1 shows a $40 million reduction on $7+ billion worth of contracts. But keep making a huge deal out of it. It's now kind of your thing.

you read my bullet points through your own colored lens, not the article.

typical.

do you know why #2 is and will remain relevant? because the B1G couldn't deliver on its own COVID revenue metrics, it gave up the rights to its own football broadcasts. FOX is now the majority stakeholder in perpetuity, and thus will negotiate against its rivals on the conference's behalf in this and every subsequent negotiation.

The article, and you, try to lump point 2 with the new contract. It doesn't have anything to do with it. No matter how hard you try to spin it and now change the argument. It was a partner loaning money. So you can continue to spin your negativity about the new deal. But all the negatives you bring up continue to be a giant yawn. Drama on ESPN's part and drama on your part.

I'm not surprised a $400 season ticket holder cannot wrap his head around the shocking and unfathomable reality that the B1G conference no longer owns its own football - including conference championship - broadcasting rights.

You try way too hard. You hate the Big 10. We get it. You're a Google warrior with a lot of time. Congrats.

try at what?

because of the single-partner nature of the B1G's FOX-owned football rights, we are at risk of being the canary in the coal mine of the broadcast rights bubble bursting.

the SEC will outpace this deal (obviously) without having to forfeit a majority ownership stake in their rights.

this should concern every single B1G media money chest thumper now and in the future.

To diss the Big 10. Your talking points of weak competition and pedophiles speak for themselves. Constantly bringing up the tv deal is trying too hard.

I simply respond to people like you who are spreading misinfo with regards to the tv deal.

would be a shame for readers here to take your posts at face value and look like idiots when discussing outside this forum.

I do not ever bring it up, except to ask if it's been finished (it hasn't).

Big 12 they did a lot better than you're giving them credit for.
That’s not true. I have never claimed the big12 would fold. I have given them tremendous credit for becoming the premier repository of programs that the BIG and/or SEC don’t want right now and will leave the very second they are given that option

Been hearing the Big 12 is going to collapse ever since we bailed...not only did that not happen, they've rebounded nicely...your posts read like an extension of the fan who has been wrong about the Big 12 forever...and bragging about conference TV money is all the Big 12 detractors have left. Whoopee.
There was no doubt it would have failed under Dan Beeb’s leadership… they upgraded and are doing well.

It’s hilarious to me that after weighing offers from both conferences both UW and UO concluded they would rather be 1/2 partners with Illinois-Indiana-Rutgers and Maryland than full partners with Kansas-KSU-Iowa St-Ok St

This is very true.. that example (and others) show what can happen to a conference under poor leadership. All it takes is 1 loser to start a nosedive.

You are chanting "money"...different words yes, but also the exact same thing....you're saying we're a lower tier school but we're getting rich!! Vandy is saying they're a lower tier school, but we're in the SEC!!...both are an odd thing to brag about kind of mentality.....and I think the SEC recently inked a deal that will be the richest payout amongst all conferences didn't they? Google could tell me for sure...but I thought they had and don't care enough to double check because I could not care less....and is our deal you keep bragging about actually signed yet? Don't know for sure and again DGAF to double check.

The concept of thumping your chest because of TV money goes over my head.
For some reason, many on the Iowa board also despise the Big 12 - probably because of Iowa St. They sound exactly like Missouri fans in the KC area - and some on here - who are disappointed to see the Big 12 get up off the canvass and hit back. They are quick to cover up their own misery with "but look how much money we are making and we are in the SEC" It's their standard response - especially after K-state beat the crap out of them last fall in FB and KU blasted them in BB in Columbia. They have nothing...but they get paid.
A local media personality asked a MU fan, today on his show, where would you rather visit for a FB or BB game, Boulder, Colorado, or Tucson, Airzona, or Utah...or Columbia, Missouri.

Sort of like saying, half of Elon Musk's net worth ($150 Billion) vs all of Mark Zuckerburg's net worth ($44 Billion)

I would point out $75>$44
