After one week of classes Notre Dame already on lockdown

70% ?????? I highly doubt that. Like, I'd bet money on it.

Well chief, you would be a part of the kooky minority. This was August 7th, and 65% said they would get the vaccine then. This number will only increase with more people contracting the virus, and more people wanting to get through this crisis.

Sorry, your dream of holding the world hostage with your lackadaisical approach to this virus is crumbling..

Sadly, the positivity rate would sky rocket. Which in turn would cause wide spread panic. The healthy people testing actually is a good thing, as long as they don't test positive. Also assuming you don't have "gliches" like they did here in Texas and also early on in Florida, where the states were reporting a 22% positivity rate when in reality it was in the 11% range. Leaving out negative results apparently skews the numbers....who knew??

That’s the thing though, healthy people ARE testing positive, spreading panic. According the the president of Tanzania, he tested the testing system, by testing a goat and a Pawpaw (fruit) and THOSE came back positive...There is some serious Tom foolery going on with the testing. I absolutely will not get tested even if I’m sick, sue me. I advise anyone to do the same.

Yeah, I don't buy it for a second and if the headlines of the last few weeks and my own travels have taught me anything, it's that more people agree with me.

Now only is the flu were remotely similar to the Covid virus, there would be a point somewhere in your post.
Nah the flu is just accepted as part of society. We haven't made it there yet with COVID. At some point we'll get there.

You're actually the minority and spoon-fed your bravado through your TV. Most people I talk to with two brain-cells to rub together think this entire "crisis' is BS. Thankfully, I rarely run into you NPCs much any more.

Didn't gallup have Hillary Clinton at 98% chance of beating Trump late into the 2016 election? What a bunch of idiots

Well you keep thinking that, professor Plum. Your intuition has served you well so far.

Only 60% said they would initially get the polio vaccine way back in 1954, and those other 40% eventually fell in line. So I'll thank you in advance for being a part of helping to eradicate Covid-19. Well done!

Sorry, I don't converse with people I know won't be able to understand research. Now be on your ignorance is bliss way, slappy..

Quit giving people shit for wanting to move on with their lives. You can have your opinion and be careful and that's fine. Respect to you. But don't get mad at people for also making a decision even though it's not the same as yours.

No, you are fearful and that's why you cut people off. You rely on authority-worship because thinking for yourself is too hard. I bet you don't even have an inner-monologue. It's okay, there's a cure. But, it's going to be extremely painful and stressful. However, you'll be extremely happy and possibly find peace along the way rather than relying on fear as a motivator

Polio and the Chinese aides are two different animals in two completely different eras. If people don't want to wear a mask, and 75-80% of people I saw pre mandate didn't, then that tells me you are way off with your claim 70% will line up for a shot for something I don't even think half the country believes is anything more than an over reaction in an election year trying to cause as much chaos as possible in hopes they will vote their way come November..

I think you need to understand that it took over 10 years to develop a flu vaccine. And that was after it being around for centuries upon centuries. This
is why we still have the seasonal flu...because it was given centuries for a headstart, and has mutated multiple multiple times.

For something like the Coronavirus, the genetic structure is still 99+% consistent with the original virus. A vaccine right now could very well stop it in its tracks.

Sorry, but given how inconsistent everything has been up to this point, I'll continue to not be afraid of something I may never come into contact with. I apologize if that's not what you want or agree with. That doesn't make me ignorant. That makes me willing to make a different choice than you.

Listen, it's time for you to get fitted for your straight-jacket. You're allowed to blather on and on about things as you see them...but it just plain isn't reality.

Close to 70% of the populous believes that the government has failed miserably at responding to this virus. This is why Biden is so far ahead in the polls.

You can close your eyes and try to wish it away, but reality says that people know that the response to this virus has been a monumental failure.

As well as the same things were being said during the last election cycle and we all know what happened there. Like Trump or hate Trump, once Joe Biden actually has to come out and think and not read a prepared statement, things are going to get real interesting. He has serious cognitive issues and it is almost sad they continue to roll that guy out.

How you respond to information is up to you. Just know that there is a distinct difference between how the flu virus evolved vs how the Covid virus has evolved. This virus is still in its infancy, and CAN still be killed off with a vaccine.

I would think the best way to respond to knowing that a vaccine is just a few months down the road would be to minimize as much damage as we can during the interim. That's why many will be wearing masks to minimize the spread and deaths up until the vaccine is released. But that's just because there are many people that have an issue with killing innocent people. I know, such a crazy concept.

I think you should take a look at the aggregate of all the polls. Or just take a look at recent Fox News polls. When has a Democrat led in Fox News polls? Let alone by 8 or more points previously. Recently it's at 4 points. But ABC still has it at a 12 point lead.

Biden hasn't even been forced to talk yet. It'll get a lot more interesting when he isn't hiding in a basement reading prepared statements. Before you go off on a tangent, I'm not a Trump fan whatsoever. I would have probably voted Biden if he picked Klobuchar as she isn't a whack job.

The popular vote happened pretty much as expected. They missed on a couple swing states.

Is it any more sad rolling out a guy that says things like "Injecting disinfectants" or "It is what it is?" Neither one of them is as sharp as a tack. And make no mistake, Trump will repeatedly be attacked on the Coronavirus, because it IS THE MAIN TOPIC of this political season.

Yep, Dementia Joe will get cremated when he actually has to respond live. It won't be pretty. I actually feel sorry for the guy.

Like I said, I think Trump is an idiot, but the guy has some mental capacity. Biden is currently Brick Tamland from Anchorman.

Progressivism is a mental disorder. It's one that allows you to claim that a man can be a woman and vice versa just because they think so. That thinks a four-year-old can decide that he's actually a girl and then encourages he start undergoing transition therapy. That shutting down the economy and destroying thousands of lives and businesses is okay if it saves "just one life," but at the same time being perfectly okay with millions of babies being murdered in their mothers' wombs up to the moment of birth (and even beyond) and declaring that an "essential service." One that allows it to make perfect sense to the person that people are denied the ability to go to church while buying alcohol, weed, etc. and congregating to gamble are also "essential services." Not to mention being completely cool with free speech protests being banned but George Floyd riots being celebrated.

It also allows one to believe in the accuracy of these polls.

To trust a progressive's interpretation of science or anything else when they buy into the anti-science narratives of the LGBTQ and transgenderism movements while also not seeing the blatantly illogical and arbitrary enforcement of lockdown mandates is like trusting a wolf to guard the hen house. It just doesn't make sense.

I'm taking my oldest to Mizzou today. He has 5 classes, and 4 are online. The only live class is a lab. 15 grand for room and board to take one class.
The county assessors has my crappy farm ground valued at 11,600 an acre it’s not irrigated getting hammered for an acreage. You getting hosed more than I am

Real question, if a vaccine doesn't come in the next few months? And they move those goal posts back too? What's your response then? Continue to keep the shit locked down? How long are you okay with a lock down? A year? year and a half? shit 2 years? Then what?

You bias skirt is clearly showing. While I agree with your comments on young transgender people, the reason churches were shut down is because they would drastically increase the virus...in large numbers. Do you know how many people would be sitting next to each other...inside...every Sunday...across the US...if church services were allowed? We would have double the deaths right now if they allowed churches to gather. I feel the same about bars. People aren't going to practice social distancing in either of them.

What free speech has been suppressed? None. They even allowed those indoor Trump rallies...until they wised up and realized that any indoor venue with large crowds is going to put people at risk.

The protests were outdoors, where many of those in attendance were wearing masks. But even then, I disagree with them not being more careful at the protests.

No one should put faith in these Pre-election polls. Most Trump supporters are hush hush in fear of being called a racist, fascist, or whatever derogatory name the liberal media wants to label him.

Cases fall by 90%
if by "healthy" they meant asymptomatic, yeah, the case count will go down.

Does anyone have metrics on the hospitalizations by age group? That may be a more telling statistic.

But, there is still the fact that a kid could be a carrier and infect someone who is vulnerable to more serious complications from it.

Harris is Biden’s version of Sarah Palin. Just an awful choice as Veep. He had my vote until he named her too.

I was raised catholic and can’t see how any catholic in their right mind could vote for an anti-catholic. If anyone is catholic and plans to vote for her and her bullying tactics and slander of the Catholic Church, please let me know how you can do that? At 50, the Korean War starts. 5 million perish. From your birth, until you were 55, you dealt with the fear of polio epidemics each summer. You experience friends and family contracting polio and being paralyzed and/or dying.

At 55 the Vietnam War begins and doesn’t end for 20 years. 4 million people perish in that conflict. During the Cold War, you lived each day with the fear of nuclear annihilation. On your 62nd birthday you have the Cuban Missile Crisis, a tipping point in the Cold War. Life on our planet, as we know it, almost ended. When you turn 75, the Vietnam War finally ends.

I'm certainly not fearful of your knowledge base. If you don't understand the science behind this, then start reading and catch up. But as is, you're way behind. Otherwise you would understand that there are 32 different vaccines in the works, with a few in Phase 3 trials.

You also need to understand that they weren't starting from scratch. Much of the research that went into these vaccines came from SARS and MERS. Even if the first vaccine only provides protection for 3 or 4 months, that is likely enough to kill this virus off. That is because it has so very few mutations from being so new. You provide people antibodies for 3 or 4 months and new cases will be eliminated in the 65% of the population that is willing to take the vaccine. That would take us to being very close to herd immunity.

These companies have already manufactured millions of doses that will be made available immediately once the Phase 3 Trials are completed and the FDA approves. Those should be done in the next few months.

32 vaccines that work. The most complex medical prophylactic of any kind and there are 32 of them? At the same time, not a single effective treatment of any sort.

Um...WRONG to the 10th power. Fascism has almost always been associated with far right ideologies. The Nazis were the furthest thing from Socialists there were. They were a totalitarian regime, which is exactly what fascism is.

The Nazis utilized the Socialist moniker to lure those from the other side of the spectrum, the Socialists, because there was a Socialist German party in the early 1900s that was more along the lines of true Socialists. So in essence it was a ruse to get more support for the Nazi regime.
