2ND HALF GAME THREAD!

The defensive lineman beat ALL the linebackers to that ball carrier. Why are our linebackers so bad this year?
Dedrick Young can hardly walk. He should have had the coverage on that first down throw and he couldn't get there. Not sure if Newby is hurt or what but Young is hurting us in there gimping around.

FIRE BRUCE READ!!!

This special teams shit is old. I get he should know better than to run into the kicker. This guy is a turd in the punch bowl.

12 for 32. I actually feel sorry for him in that we couldn't recruit anyone even remotely competent to play QB and thus have been forced to trot him out there for 4 years.

Wow, just don't understand all the Armstrong bashing. The guy is a warrior. Our coaching staff just isn't that familiar with how to coach this type of QB.

I wonder if Shawn Eichorst is watching this in the stands and evaluating his coaching staff?

So name the coach who magically gets us that. And if you say Scott Frost, you never get to post here again.

Who said anything about Scott Frost? I'm just providing you with a fact which is you need the jimmy's and the joe's to win national championships. The facts overwhelmingly bare that out. You also need a special coach who can develop that talent. I don't know if Riley can develop the talent all I know is we're not close to a top ten recruiting class under him.

I trust these guys way more than the last bunch to coach up the top 15-20 class to look like a top 10 class.

What, in Riley's 20 year coaching career, gives you the confidence to say this? A couple of Sun Bowl victories at Oregon State? I like the guy but he is not in the same league as Meyer and Harbaugh, or even Ferentz for that matter.

so I'll say again, who is the coach who magically gets us to top 10 recruiting classes? Because I never said it was Riley. I said the recruiting has been better than it was under Bo. And Riley has had exactly two seasons.

You know damned well that Eichorst is doing just that and has been all year. The question is what happens after the year.

I am waiting for Red Rover to come on here and tell us how we were just a play or two from winning this game just like last year. By any measure we are getting owned today and playing totally uninspired football. Iowa now owns us for another year of bragging rights and we will make stupid excuses for playing terrible - suppose injuries will be the excuse for a year. we are just an above average team on a good day.

I'm tired of every facet of special teams setting us back and digging holes for the offense and defense. It happens every game and hasn't changed this year. If he can't figure it out, it's time to go.

He's absolutely in Ferentz's league. And I'm pretty sure I didn't say he's better than Harbaugh or Meyer who may very well be generational. Though I think he's a lot closer than any other coach we've had since Osborne as far as understanding the game.

Alright, I'm as big a critic of Read as anyone, but how exactly is that on him?

Gerry was an absolute moron there. How does Read coach that out of someone. Why should he ever be expected to have to TELL someone "hey when you're running around the field, watch where you're going."

Pelini coached him for two years. It's his fault.

Pennsy - I really have to disagree with you on some points. I agree that we arent the best coached team in some areas but we are woefully short in quality athletes across the board. Our LBs are serviceable at best. Our DEs are very average on a good day. you should expect to see some great athletic plays occasionally but they are rare. there are so may places for this team to improve it is hard to know where to start.
Agree about defensive ends. But we are not 33-10 worse than Iowa in terms of talent. Crap, they have scored more on us than they did against Illinois. Let that sink in! Yikes
